I wouldn't fit spacers. They put extra strain on the wheel bearings due to the extra offset. OZ F-1's shouldn't need spacers anyway. And I definitely wouldn't use spacers on a trackday. End of.
Better off using a ph1 172 airbox and a performance filter element. I had a cone filter on my 172 when I bought it and was getting heat soak problems. Fitting the stainless exhaust will improve the performance. I had mine remapped a few months ago at RS Tuning. That smoothed the rough edges off...
Don't bother. It upsets the ride quality and puts extra load on the rear brakes because the car is sitting lower so it thinks it's carrying extra weight. I've had a car that was lowered a few years ago and it was painful to drive over anything even slightly rough.
The brake will automatically cancel the cruise control. You can resume the preset speed by pressing resume button. In theory you can drive the car totally on the buttons for the cruise control on a clear road. You can increase or decrease the speed using the plus and minus buttons either by...
Has the dephaser been replaced when the cambelt was changed? If its worn the idle will be lumpy when it's cold. They are all a little bit lumpy anyway until the engine is warmed up.
I honestly can't see why anyone would want to remove the A/C. It makes little to no difference in the fuel consumption. In warm weather it's pretty uncomfortable driving a car without A/C. I use mine all the time even on track.
The engines are pretty strong as long as you look after them properly. My 172 has 126,000 miles on it now and it's still as sweet as ever. I had it remapped recently and it's giving 167.1bhp at the flywheel. Pretty good for a high mileage car. I've fitted a Scorpion stainless cat back exhaust...
Mine is still pretty sharp after 126,000 miles. It's taken on trackdays fairly regularly as well as used for long journeys. I've had the car 4 years almost. There's not much that gets past me on the race track ! I use the Aircon all the time even on track. I can't see the point in stripping the...
Yes I know there's nothing I can do about it. Just annoyed that it happened. The car gets serviced whenever it's needed so no scrimping on that side of it. I'll wait now til it needs an air filter and buy another long life element. Make do with what's there for now. It still goes like stink...
Yes it's done that much mileage. I put 40,000 on it in the last 4 years. It still looks really good. It needs the wheels refurbing and the front bumper is all chipped and losing its clear top coat lacquer thanks to Lookers blasting it off with their jet wash when they had it to replace the...
I took my car in for service yesterday at my local garage and asked him to check the condition of the air filter which was meant to be a cotton filter element I fitted a couple of years ago. He knew about it as he'd serviced it since I fitted it. Anyway I left it with him to get on with it but...
I've done 15 track days in my 172 and it's never let me down. I always make sure it's serviced before going and have never had to lift a spanner to it while at a trackday. It's done 126,000 miles now and still got plenty of power and life left in it. Always make sure the engine is warmed up...
The factory satnav in Renaults are crap. It's TomTom Carminat and takes ages to program. It's not touch screen so you have to use a remote control. I have it in my Trafic Sport and hate it. I prefer Garmin.
The clips that screw onto the metal spikes that secure the shields break or go rusty. The easiest fix is a large flat washer then a large self tapper nut and screw it up with a pair of pliers. That's what I did with mine and it's solved the problem
In my opinion you are better off getting a stainless cat back system. It will last a lot longer and improves the performance a lot as well. My 172 has a Scorpion system. It sounds good and acceleration is much better now
