I would go with Bosch, very good blades and they last.

Undo the 13mm bolt at the bottom, lift up caliper, remove pads clean up and refit, tighten bolt, refit wheel job done

Standard Renault discs are terrible for falling to bits, they usually rust and that causes the uneven wear you see on the pads. Its always the inside edges that fall to bits. Fit brembo's and it wont happen again.

nought wrong with being 50+ and having an RS, few of my customers have them, and I'm told they are driven hard.

He is correct in failing it.....but..... Take the instrument panel apart and wire the abs light to the oil pressure light, job done, comes on with ignition off and goes out after engine running, just as it does when working correctly and not bodged to pass the mot. ;) Or do it the proper way.

you might just be lucky with bent valves, need to rip the head off it to find out. Specialist Breakers do used engines at a good price.

try new bulbs in the right hand rear light cluster and also clean the connections to the light cluster, make sure the earth is good as well.

£600 - £800 as long as the head is ok and not had a valve embedded into it.
