I find the stock fan profile on my reference 980ti's is weird.
The fans literally stay at idle speed until it is at 100% load/max temp or something. On Witcher 3 I play it all maxed out (but hairworks off) and the cards are at 70% load or something but at 83c and totally silent.
So it...
I think the merits of the ROG Swift are swings and roundabouts but one thing that I think everyone can agree on is that for a 1440p TN panel it is way too expensive when you think about what you can get for half the price without g-sync. I'd cancel it ASAP.
I had thought about 4k before but I...
Guess I'm too late replying but anyway....
Depends what you mean by "handle"?
As a PC gamer buying a top of the range card you expect to play on ultra settings (albeit you can tolerate low budget AA solutions) and in that case the answer to your first question is "not even remotely". You need...
After Batman I am starting to think that way about SLI too.
The problem is that once you have SLI it is hard to go back. I mean when the next GPU comes out I could switch to a single system which would be a big power loss in some games but a gain in others.
I could wait until a single GPU...
I'm currently using a ROG Swift with 980ti SLI.
I've found G-Sync to be a mixed bag. In Witcher 3 it was fantastic in the early days before optimisation as it would occasionally drop down into the mid 50fps range (with a 60 refresh) but there was obviously no v-sync stutter when it dipped under...
Yeah I'm finding a bit too much going on and too fiddly as you say. Almost like I need to get out a notepad and write stuff down.
Also I originally had it on PC (got free keys with my 980ti's) but it was unplayable so I bought it on PS4. The PS4 version has better graphics (the water textures...
Love the way you can hold onto the baseball bat for a bit. Hope you can do that with other melee weapons. I mean I don't want to use one permanently but it always felt disappointing getting a weapon off a thug and then chucking it on the floor instead of using it against him.
I've bought it on PS4. Been playing it all week.
I can trade it in and get half of it back so it will only cost £20 in total.
Plus I knew it would work when I bought it....
The PC version probably won't run properly for a couple of months after launch as I will have to wait for patches and...
Those results don't mean what you might think they mean.
I spend at least £1k a year on PC upgrades. I spend £600 once every 8 years on consoles. PC gamers have to/want to constantly refresh their hardware where as consoles are almost a once a decade purchase. Plus of course almost every...
I bought plenty of games that I played for a few hours and thought "this sucks, I'm done" and that was it.
Dragon Age Inquisition, Dark Souls, AC Unity, Watch Dogs, Destiny, Alien Isolation were all games I lost interest in rapidly. Doesn't matter if they have 40 hours of content if I get bored...
Bought one for my Dad for his birthday so he could watch BT Sports in other rooms as he didn't like using his ipad. He liked it so much he asked me to get him another one for Xmas to put in another room! No issue setting it up but when I saw him watching some Football it did look like it was at...
I am absolutely loving it.
If you suffer from ADHT then yeah go play COD - games already cater to those people.
But I just loved taking my time, looking around, admiring all the art work, listening in to conversations. I even enjoy reading the newspapers you pick up.
About halfway through now...
How did you get on with this? My Kinect broke just after the warranty ended.
The MS website said that they charge to replace it (and it takes a while) and so I just said eff-it and bought a new one. Did they really fix your XO for free?
Only sites I touch are The Escapist Magazine and IGN. At the moment they are the only sites that aren't involved in corruption, nepotism and have solid ethics policies. Yes I did say IGN - shocking I know!
I wouldn't use Kotaku etc to wipe my arse. They are everything you guys accuse IGN of...
Just got this today. I have PS Plus so it was £20.
Graphics are really nice but I swear I saw the frame rate drop just once or twice? Although it was weird because it happened on a time trial and not in a race with all the action on screen.
Also somehow Horizon 2 feels smoother even though...
I used to use unblockus but found I had a fair bit of buffering as their DNS server was in the US I believe and Virgin were screwing with the traffic and I was getting low speeds. So I moved to Unotelly as they had a UK server and it works great.
Really impressed with the drop in power consumption and those 770's look like a great deal especially in SLI.
As I'm already using 780's I think I am going to wait for the 980ti though.
I was tempted to upgrade because "must have the latest stuff" but I've lost so much money doing that over...
I played it a bit more last night. Actually I played it all night.
I still think the narrator/host guy is a d*ck and I am still not keen on the hipster festival but I absolutely love it now.
Pity all my mates are on PS4 these days so I won't be buying it.
I feel sad really as it is clear a...
Ok my take.
The graphics are absolutely incredible. No one can criticise the Xbox One after seeing this. Night time, rain, sunny days just totally awesome. A real showcase for the console.
Now the downsides........
I am not f**king 15 years old!!!!
If anyone finds this festival concept...
I just found out that this problem wasn't just me; it was a well known issue.
MS released a patch just a couple of days after the main late August patch that screwed up my TV app. Unfortunately at the point I gave up and disconnected the Sky box from the XO the patch was still in beta.
I...
I've had to disconnect my Sky box from the Xbox.
It was absolutely fine until a week ago when it downloaded the latest patch.
Once the patch had complete I found that TV footage (most noticeable on motor racing) appeared to be running at like 15fps. It was almost as if it was out of sync or...
That dusty pad is pretty funny. I keep mine clean but it hasn't been used much.
I use the official remote control thing every day. It feels really nice and soft to the touch and I like how it lights up when you pick it up.
Just annoying it doesn't work via Kinect so you need line of sight with...
Yeah a criminally under rated and under sold game IMO.
I thought it was miles better than Uncharted 3 but doesn't get the respect it deserves. I can see why Square thought it would sell more copies.
Dunno, the first one needs pretty decent specs to run it maxed. Even without the ubersampling you are looking at 780 SLI to max it out at 1080p and never drop under 60fps! I know on mine it stays above 60 (but the fans speed up a lot!) but if I enable ubersampling it drops below quite often!
It...
Holy feck!
Just the other day I was wondering what those guys did after Alan Wake.
I wasn't interested in Quantum Break but I damn well am now! That studio write some seriously good s**t.
Not interested.
Old sports titles that your mates have stopped playing cos they got the new version.
Games like BF that you would have got already if you were interested, are about to be replaced and would require the purchase of DLC.
Discounts on digital games that cost way more than hard...
Only place I did that was in this railway signal box (I think thats what it was) on one of the final missions. Loads of guys were storming it so I had to set trip wires and mines across the doors so I didn't get overwhelmed.
So I've got it now and am playing just the DLC as I stated previously.
Absolutely fantastic - but the combat is still sh*te.
If it didn't have the combat or if the combat was just quick time stuff like The Walking Dead game or Beyond Two Souls it would be the best game ever.
But the trial and...
