There is more arch gap on the front than the rear, with the tape measure measurements being taken off the top of the shoulder of the tyre.

I'm washing the car tomorrow so will take some photos then of Cup offset wheels with no spacers on a 182FF - they've got 195 45 R15s on them but I'm sure with some professional guesstimating we'll get there!
I know I'm "in the trade" but I've always kept an up to date spreadsheet of what's been done with a column for Date, Mileage, Who did the work (usually me) and also what was done.

It's rare to have oil solenoids fail, best way to check it to to unplug it and measure the resistance across the terminals - nothing would show a fault and most oil solenoids have a resistance under 50Ohms [not sure about the Renault one, maybe someone else can chime in].

Get it plugged in - the knock sensor fault OR the dephaser could do it.
If the knock sensor is showing a fault it could actually be seeing knock though, which could be a badly flowing injector.

I'm going to convert to standalone as part of a project for work, so the real question for me is about engine internal choice.
I think I'm going to get hold of a stock 182 engine, fit ARPs, swap the cams over and install new belts, dephaser etc and spend a long day in the workshop changing...
I've just had a peak and it's clear that where the lobe joins the shaft isn't a straight 90degree edge that the OEM cams would have (I guess with pushed on lobes).
There's a radius down from the lobe to the main shaft, which is nice
There's a box with Quaife already installed in the classifieds atm for £1k I think - well worth looking at that option + paying a local garage to do the work.
I've not seen inside any other 182 oil caps so not sure what I'm looking for - sadly my eyesight isn't good enough to tell the lift & duration :tonguewink:
Does the OEM camshaft have a part number cast into it like the Jap stuff usually does?
Most probably cracked ring lands, the lean mixture is pretty horrible to see from my point of view - cringeworthy tbh...
It has a receipt for the cams in the history file and even with compression like it has it still pulls away from a friends stock 182FF so I'm pretty confident on the cams are...
So the 182 engine currently has bad compression on no2 & no4.
The current engine has a set of Catcams 428s fitted along with a tune by a monkey.
Do I swap a stock 172/182 engine in, installing the cams and a new belt etc.
OR
build a replacement engine using a 197 head, pistons & rods - selling...
The DynaPack doesn't have the wheels installed as it bolts to the hubs, so it generally will read higher than an atw figure due to the tyre loss a roller dyno sees. It's surprisingly strong for a low-comp motor.
