Not strictly true - I competed for two and a half years in a 'budget' series - I'd hazard a guess that I'm one of the lowest earners on CS, just had to make a few expenditure sacrifices in order to do it, not going out on a weekend, having a boring road car, etc.
OK, just to clear a few things up here, I've got some emails from Bill. Think Bill will be a member on here soon too to help answer some questions.
Basically, all 182s are eligible. The 182 Cup needs only the race modifications. The 182 needs both cup packs and race modifications. The...
Took her out for a quick spin the other day and got a few crappy phone pics. Feeling much better on the road now with brand new Brembo HC front and rear, Minted 1144 pads, Cooksport springs and new Uniroyal Rainsport2 boots
I bummed this a bit today, trying to build another high-tech city.
All the industry is high-tech with small amounts of manufacturing that's slowly being replaced by HT. s**t loads of commerical offices. Most of my residential is low wealth still, but once I've built up the surrounding towns...
In 2013 it's going to be a development series, hopefully they'll iron all the issues out before stand-alone races in 2014, then championship status in 2015.
Just seen the Wheeler Dealers TR6 again tonight and it reminded me of a friend who raced a (slightly) modified TR6 at Oulton back in October. Was his first time out in the car in CSCC's Swinging Sixties championship - good battle with an Elan for a few laps, until brake failure and retirement...
One of the good things about close racing is you don't get the massive speed differentials in multi-car championships. I think there was one mini pile up last year, but the days of deliberate contact are long gone. The organisers came down very hard on it.
Stock Hatch has dropped it's image of being a high contact championship after a couple of pretty clean years. With close racing you do get contact though, obviously, but it's no longer a demolition derby.
The problem with allowing weld-in and custom cages is that when one person spends thousands on a custom cage that stiffens the chassis up so much, everyone else will have to to be competitive. There's no evidence to suggest that 6-pt bolt-in cages aren't up to the job.
More info as and when I get it, but I believe starting 2014 will be a Clio 182 championship run by 750MotorClub. Cars will more than likely fit the "stock hatch" set of regulations, which limits modifications and costs.
Tempted to get this again for PC, some of the screenshots make it look stunning. I got bored on my first playthrough when I could kill everything with one arrow.
