Mine had a bit of rubber hanging out of the bush. I.e. it was obvious when you looked at it. My noise was the knocking on hard acceleration, manifold to subframe.
How many miles have the tyres done?
I wrote down the miles before mine went funny and it (the tyre) had done 38k! It was still legal tread wise. Tyre guy just reckoned it was because they were so light at the rear. I've had two do it now both after similar miles.
I get a droning from my near side rear after 20k+ miles. It starts to get flat spots on the inside. If you run your hand over the tyre it is obvious. I do mostly motorway miles like you. Try swapping your front and rear tyres round and see if it makes a difference.
I've had my geometry checked...
I need to glue my splitter and my headlight (the black bit).
I've used araldite (were you mix the two tubes) and I've tried epoxy resin with some fibre glass. But they didn't seem to stick to the plastics very well. The joins are very brittle. When I tighten screws/bolts you can hear that it is...
It is identical except the bottom bracket that the long bolt goes through is not threaded. It is as though a longer bolt with a nut on the end is needed.
So I wanted to know if this is the wrong alternator or I just need to get a new longer bolt?
Maybe it was on a different model?
Phone Jamsport if you want to find out what the score is, they'll happily tell you what is what.
I guess they don't have that big a stock of inlets for exchange. For each exchange inlet you have to allow a week turn around I guess. Send out, fit new ones, send back, match, repeat... Plus 3...
Somewhere during the 172 ph2 they switched to all being RS inlets. My Oct 2002 172 cup doesn't have one.
Compare the gasket to the head ports and the manifold ports. If the manifold ports are much smaller than the head ones matching will help.
There are lots of pictures of before and after.
Interesting, the motor factor I'm speaking to has a different aux belt for 736 and 738? I thought they'd be the same. I wonder if she's thinking cup i.e. no air con.
Would this manifold work with the super charger kits that are on the way? Obviously different hoses required.
Or is there no point?
Just trying to future proof myself...
