The "ram" effect will in theory raise the power output because of a higer pressure at the T/B..... But you need to go very very very fast to actually being able to measure this...
Think "ram" effect has been mentioned in an earlier thread...
Michael
Induction filter or panel filter..... Does not matter... As long as it only draws cold air, and even with a "ram" (LOL) effect, it will work... But i think theres a cone sheped filter in it though...
Green makes a similar filter for the Saxo and 106... It sure does work!!! Citroën and Peugeot...
Well.... you sort of need to go under the car.... I had to remove the exhaust pipe, loosen the circlip underneath the gear lever (under the car), remove the gaiter and slide out the gearlever..... new one in (well greased) and of you go!!!! 45 min i recon!?
Michael
Well... I plan on making as much as possible with fiberglass/plastic drain pipe... and the connections with silicone hose, 90 deg. bend approx 85mm diameter to the T/B ...
more pics.... for weight!!!

Well.... saw Nick Read´s project with the BMC air filter and desided to get one... looks awesome!! But as you all know there is not much room to play with, so why not make some room for the filter itself..

The noise from your power steering is air... air trapped in the system somehow.. You need to raise (best/easy) the front of your car, front wheels in the air, take of the filler cap, start your engine, refill now if nessesary, gently turn the wheels in both directions several times to full...
I think its at the front of your engine... next to the filter... a little difficult to get there, just like the "F£%&!§Ø" filter... It could be a loose or bad connetion, as the switch is in a position where a lot of water and dirt can hit it....

:D....Way to go!!!!!! 2,0L or 2,0L++++ is the way to go... Pulls all the way! No need to wait for the magic 4500 rpm, even though I must admit that it is a special feeling when the valver revs like mad!!!! :devilish:
Like your steering wheel thing!!! (got the OMP thing myself!)
Once used a...
Start by getting the Demon Tweeks motorsport catalouge... The Pacet fan range is quite large.. so find the size of fan you need (cant remember what size ive got, but theres room for a larger one!!!) The fans are very slim, the depth of the fan fan is much less than the standard one, so should...
U can fit a much larger fan, no probs....
Pacet (get them from Demon Tweeks) makes great fans in all different sizes, push and pull applications... They are very silent in operation but move so much more air than the standard item, even if you choose one the same size as the standard one...
I had a friend do the enlargement with a CNC machine....
The butterfly i did my self with a grinder and a file...
It is very difficult getting it right. The butterfly should be a snug fit, but without any resistance when opening up the throttle... If the fit is not ideal all the way round...
More pics!!!
Its a throttle body from a R19, slightly modified, larger inlet area, and quite a lot of restrictive material has been removed..
No need to fabricate a mounting flange for an air filter like the BMC or PiperX.. Its already there!! :)
Michael...
CR on the F7P... Should be 1:10, but don´t think they are actually!!! :o
Run at least 95 octane!!! If chipped and tuned etc. atleast 98 octane...
Michael
Hmmm... was not a good quality pic.... take one tomorrow :-)
Will get you the measurements as soon as the pistons arrive... I am having the rods altered to fit the pistons... Renault pistons have floating gudgeon pins, whereas the peugeot are "fixed" in position..??? Know what i mean?
When...
Crank from a Megane (same as Willy and diesel),and pistons from a Peugeot 206 GTI (85mm diameter), special headgasket fra Mecaparts in France...
Pic is on its way...
Michael
Here is some pics of my throttle body, prepared for my 2,1L engine..
Dont know if it will work, but there is about a 10% larger inlet area!?
I will of course need a remap of the ECU, but then again, i would anyway, going from 1794 ccm to 2111 ccm, big valve head, cams, lightened bottom end...
BenR: Can Renault check the position of the potentiometer and reset the idle.....? The dealers here in DK are totally crap.... Don´t think they would know how.... Do they use the XR25? (I think it´s called!)
Michael
Wooooooo Hooooooo....
Finally!!!! :D Always very exciting to start an engine after a reassembly... The crank should not have suffered from oil starvation if you made oilpressure with the starter (no leads attached/plugs)... ?!
I always keep my lifters in a bath with oil, so they don´t...
