It's, imo - by some distance - the nearest thing to a sim on a current gen console. Forza 3 does lovely loose handling that's great fun, but for hot lapping it doesn't really cut it. I've not had this much enjoyment just racing AI or doing time trials since F355 Challenge on my DC.

The Arcade is Jasper now, has been for some time iirc. Main thing is a HD will be needed to install quite a few cars and tracks (on the second disc), and also to view replays etc.

It does work really well, Grand Slam Tennis is also superb with M+ once you've mastered it, amazing depth to the controls. In a few years, the Natal/Wand crowd will be raving about stuff that Wii players have been enjoying for ages ;)
