Thought it was you man, didnt want to say hello and sound like a tit incase it wasnt though! Didnt know you'd gone green. Looks really well.
Are you coming to the leeds meet tomorrow? Its about time i attend my first one after being on here for so long.
I've got an OMP targa 330mm in mine. I'll try get to the meet this sunday and you can have a gander.
As warren rightly says though, they wear like a b**ch. mine is already starting to go shiny after a couple of months.
When first fitted:
I'd ideally like to throw the Rs Tuner into it and see if it spits out any error codes but thats not possible at the moment for reasons i may well be forced to explain later in another thread.
Motor Marque up in West Park mate.
Absolutely impressed so far. Excellent service and very communicative.
I think they are going to be expensive but i'm far more confident the work will be done right than i've ever been with any other garage.
The car has gone in the garage today to get my starter sorted and a new aux belt and tensioner kit fitted, but i noticed on the way that something else isnt quite right.
The car is randomly imposing mental rev limits.
I pulled out to overtake someone up a hill after it went into 2 lanes...
That is inded the case.
Some cars have internal 'shutters' on the back of the headlights which deflect the beam but as far as im aware clios dont have this feature.
Throw some stickers on it and enjoy Dunkerque mate.
if at all possible dont take the main A26 out of Calais (its hard not to). The first couple of toll booths absolutely f**k you. I think the first you hit is something like €7 (not bad) but then the same stretch again a few miles down is like €25. Tourist rip off.
It suddenly get smuch...
I put some on mine and ive got HIDs.
Make sure youve got a warning triangle, high-vis jacket, spare bulbs and a gb sticker - the french have a massive hard-on for checking foreigners and dishing out fines if you dont -they are a legal requirement now as well as the headlamp deflectors.
Saying...
Just read through all of this and its absolutely epic.
I can only dream of having the talent/ability to do what you have done.
Amazing work.
I want vids of it scaring old people
Really very impressed with mine.
The ride is crashy as you might expect but its nowehere near as bad as some coilied cars ive been in.
I think they show up bad roads more so than the standard suspension would, but on normal roads its perfectly acceptable.
Took me 3000 miles round Europe a...
I got mine from ebay - it was a guy selling off stock of HIDS4U kits, so they are decent quality.
There should be no issues providing you have wired in the dual optics correctly.
Plug and play into the existing loom.
As the dual optics are projector type lights on the dipped beam, they are...
Exactly what has been said really.
The dension kits work by transmitting onto an FM frequency like the cheap ones do, however the dension wires directly into the aeriel input on the back of your head unit - it just sits inbetween the aerial input and the head unit itself.
From memory the red...
if your looking from below up to the starter it is on the top right.
Access is possible from the top but its obsucred by the manifold moreso than it is from beneath IMO
If you take a glance at post #8 mate you'll see its one of the first things i checked when the car first started doing this.
And as i said in post #8 it does appear to be on very tight indeed and free from excessive amounts of contaminants and dirt.
This is getting stranger.
I've now realised that when the car wont crank, you can usually get it to do so, by holding the ignition in the start position, despite it not doing anything, and then either just putting it into gear (not moving the car at all)
or if that doesnt work roll the car...
I think thats probably my point.
The rate at which it was accelerating at those high speeds with all the weight was so slow, whilst it technically may have gone on to achieve the same top speed, i would have needed the nardo test track to get there!
In those autobahn circumstances i am certain...
I appreciate what you are saying but what i meant to say is that there was so much weight in there, the car reached a point (at 137mph) whereby it couldnt pull all that weight to a higher speed. There was more revs left to go.
Whilst i understand weight does not affect top speed absolutely...
Nice.
I'm having exactly the same issue as you with the sparco subframes.
How are the deisgn 2's to sit in?
I'm damn tempted to sell my buckets as i think i fancy the comfort of these more
The spade connector that is on the top right as you look at it from underneath was the only thing i could really get my hand on from underneath and it seemed to be securly in place.
As i mentioned access is a nightmare as im sure your well aware.
Whne the car goes back to the garage for the...
When i checked, the spade connector looked to be pretty tight.
And i hesistate to say the starter is dying, as when it does work, it cranks strong and the engine starts immediately.
Cheers for the responses so far guys.
What i cant understand is how it started for the garage perfectly all the time it was with them. Completely typical.
When looking at ti myself, the main issue seems to be that the starter motor is so innaccsessible. From the top you have to get through...
Mine does this exact same thing.
If i get in the car and drive off normally it does nothing.
If i get in the car, start it and drive off in a very short space of time, the doors auto-lock and then unlock themselves almost instantly.
My car has been doing this for the past 3 weeks and its now really annoying me.
Essentially, on a completely random basis (i.e. hot/cold/morning/night and in various loactions) the car will refuse to start at all.
On the 2nd stage of the ignition all the lights illuminate and then extinguish...
This was on the way back from Switzerland, coming up through the German autobahns.
Had about 400kilos of extra weight on board with a fortnights worth of camping gear/clothes/gas for stove etc. Would have easily done a real (gps) 140+ had there been normal weight in the car.
Speedo said about...
