I'm midway through popping my matched inlets on.
Got the plenum off fine, and im currently at the point of trying to remover the manifold itself.
I'm following the guide thats on here but its not massively clear.
I've taken off the two bolts holding the fuel rail on, buty how do i get the...
Its only noticeable on very straight roads under heavy load, around the mid range of the rev band. There's no wobbles or shake at speed to suggest tracking.
One other thing, there is a a fair bit of axle tramp in 1st, was always used to flooring it in the valver if i wanted to shoot off, but...
Well i've just picked it up and drove it home.
Really impressed. Feels like a much more mature car to drive than the valver, albeit with less drama when you put your foot down, its definately quicker however.
Only thing that concerns me slightly is that it pulls to the left slightly under...
I once again ask the question, where in there have a detailed the destruction of a 172?
im not intending to paint the thing orange or daub a 3ft c**k across the roof though am i?
matched inlets and some ph2 bits arent really what i would describe as pulling apart a car.
lol!
Current plans are:
ph2 rear lights
ph2 coded side strips
coded handles
low on coilovers
decat
rstuner
matched inlets
itg panel with some uprated feeds
sparco ring wheel possibly
possibly ph2 rear bumper
hid's
megane splitter
want to change the wheels but not sure to go for a straight...
Been looking for one for ages, finally one popped up close by. Went and looked at it friday and was impressed, went back today for a test drive and all seemed really good, i've left a deposit so the car is now mine!! So happy!
Its a 2000 titanium silver, i think its got the ally bonnet as it...
Love the buttertubs! I've promised myself when i find a ph1 172 in the next few weeks its one of the first big drives im going to take it on. Some fantastic roads up there round near Hawes.
Bambi did make an appearance shortly after a downhill hairpin, just stood in the dead centre of the road! Thankfully it legged it into the woods as we rounded the corner.
LOL me and my mate were, shall we say 'pressing on', rapidly catching a single car up ahead, it was only when we got up behind it i realised it was a police land rover. Luckily we werent driving like complete c***s and he turned off soon after allowing us to crack on.
Do you ever come back in from a drive out and realise your still grinning from ear to ear?
God i love these little cars. Recently discovered a fantastic 45 mile round 'loop' that takes in some brilliant twistys, and i've just come back in from attacking it along with my mate in his megane...
I have 3k to play with im just concious if you look hard enough, a nice one with all the things you want can be had for less.
I've been looking for some time and as you say 3k is ph2 money, but im really after a ph1 so arent really interested in anything newer.
I'll see what his response is.
Yeh this was my feeling. I want a clean one ideally with a recent cambelt and clutch change, although having missed the one that sold today i was looking round and came across that one with the original belt. As you say i doubt the chap will want to slice £500 off the price, but i sent him an...
I'm on the lookout for a ph1 172. Was meant to be going to look at a mint one tomorrow but the chap sold the car today - absolutely gutted!
Theres another one thats just popped up on pistonheads for £2600 which has done 78k, but according to the chap when i rang, it has never had a cambelt...
Cheers guys.
They are 7J wide mate. offset 28 from memory.
They can only be had in VW fitment, so I had to get the centres bored out a few mm to fit. That and i run 5mm spacers each side so they clear the calipers.
Car will be up for sale in a few weeks as im after a ph1 172.
White16valver already bobbed one of mine from FCS up, but here are a couple more. 15" Aluline Cups BTW, take a bit of work to get on, but nothing major.
How the hell have i missed this?
Looks ruddy mental paul.
I'm hopefully going to be getting a ph1 172 in a few weeks so this is a massively bad influence
Nice to meet you Jamie, often see your car parked up near uni and wondered when i was going to run into you.
@dave - those shades are fantastic and you know it!
Just as a bit of help here is a picture to illustrate the problem. The existing seatbelt is mounted into the seat, this is not possible with the new sparco recliners, so where would the mounting point for a harness or belt buckle go?
Cheers
Tom
