Found the problem. The new rear discs i fitted had the incorrect ABS ring. The notches were fractionally closer together than originals.

Same loom from the car, but im direct into the iso plugs. So removed the 2 into 1 converter lead i used before.

Well i ended up getting another stereo, and its dropped to 0.04 amps.. I wonder how long this one will last.

Had another look today, as i think the cold weather may have killed the battery. Its drawing 0.15 amps with the radio plugged in. That doesn't sound excessive, but not ideal from what i can tell. What do you think?

No i didnt. the problem only occurs with the radio plugged in, so id have thought that is fault. As opposed to a plug or wire shorting out. Do you think its worth a try?

No, as i kept checking and paranoid it was going to do it again.. Then the other day my battery died completely. I assumed it was the cold snap killing off an old battery, but after some checks found the stereo was at it again. When unplugged there is barely any drain.

So 12 months after replacing my previous aftermarket head unit, the replacement unit is doing the same thing - draining the battery. Works fine, but its drawing about 1.2amp when car is off. Am i just unlucky with these head units? Anyone got a spare bluetooth one they want to sell? :)

Thanks - i'll remember for next time. In regards to changing these - for those who haven't done it before, it can be done with just removing one half of the bumper and pulling it down to access the light cluster.

It would be a good idea to take up that offer of a TB... before buying any more parts. I had a rough idle problem that was fixed by a £20 TB.

Yes, bumper will come off tommoro. I saw another thread on here where is was apparently doable in situ. I found an Osram D2S for £28 - am i likely to get cheaper...

How the feck does the bulb come out? I removed the xenon pack. Big hands and cold weather don't help on the verge of taking the bumper off now.

Jinjur - i think you and i have different issues here. Yours sounds more severe. My car runs starts and runs smooth as silk - apart from very light throttle in 4th and 5th gear. I've lost track of what you've changed, but it really does sound like injector. Keep at it buddy.

The car has been written off, its far from mint, the clutch is getting very high and i fancy a change of car. Investing £600 into this one is not a clever thing to do. How much would i likely sell it for? £650 maybe.. Thanks anyway...

I have this problem. Probably for a year now. Changed - plugs coil leads map injector that was faulty TB 2 x o2 senors checked for manifold leaks numerous other things. I just live with it. Only really get it in 4th at slight throttle - so i either apply more throttle or go to 5th and is barely...

Are you talking about the climate control face panel?

I don't really have the gear for that. Just an OBD connector. Will pull the climate panel and have a look.
