All about costs, an LS400 can be picked up for less than £900 in full working order, take the engine and break the car it should break even. Manual gearbox from a Supra. Aftermarket ECU and a couple of fabricated bits and pieces and I have a V8 conversion for a small amount.
After going out in Brens V8 S14a and hearing from his driver Tim Webster what difference to the weight and balance an LS2 made I'm 100% going for a 1UZFE. Brens car was corner weighted with a distribution of 57/43 thats using a 6litre american V8. I've been looking into the weights of the...
I never really doubted it, it doesn't take much to fumble and lose out to another car and mapped diesels can be nippy, its just fun to join in. I didn't expect you to be that quick though...
Why not meet in a Birch Services which is the services at the M60/62/66? Everyone heading to RS Tuning from Manchester way can meet there as its the start of the 62 east again really and head out in convoy?
I was in 5th the whole time?
Schooled by a diesel, ffs :(
Good meet guys, nice to see every-one drove sensibly, no-one locked their wheels up or nearly had a head on crash or anything ;)
Fair enough lol. The apex bits on my car have suffered for 2 years problem free so I guess I have no reason to complain. I was looking inot some Apex comfies as I went out in Brens demo S14a on Sunday and they were very comfy but the car went pretty well.
Let me know how it does with body filler?
So far, £28ish. Spares lying around from old projects is helping a lot :D
Mate if you can get primer for £1.20 a tin then that'd be really helpfull, I'll ask for a good few cans of black and white and then arrange a courier for a bulk order? I'll send...
Whats a Jazzer?
If I was going to use filler then I would mask off the tyre so it shouldn't be a problem.
I've got an orbital sander but its too big for the wheel considering that I only wanna use coarse paper on the kerbed bits, its too much work sanding it smooth again to do the whole wheel...
I'm not sure, I hate using filler its messy and Im not sure if body fillers a good idea for the wheels. I'll see how it comes out with the sandpaper 1st and if they are still a mess I'll give filler a try. This is only the spare I guess if I fcuk it up then the other 4 will get a half assed job...
lol, not quite but getting laquer from autopaint kinda works like a discount, I think its around £3.99 for laquer there instead of £6.99 from halfords. Sandpaper was 97p from wicks, and masking tape dad pinched from work. winner :D
My fingers are going to end up getting sanded through the state of the wheels :D I think some of the marks might be beyond a fix with sandpaper, I might need some metal filler :( I'll see how I get on.
Ok, this is like a mini project so its not good enough for the projects section but should see a few updates...
I recently bought myself a ph2 172, I got it for a reasonable price with a couple of niggles I need to sort out. For now I just want to tidy it up, when I've got some money I might...
oooft nicely done matt ;) Glad to hear you and your passenger got out ok though. If you wanna come to some meets whilst your without a motor lifts are available ;)
I think the RS Clios in general get more love one every other forum than CS, unless you have a a cup. Then a few people on CS respect it...
I can actually see what your saying about having more fun in the vectra though, I found the 197 more fun than my 172 for the exact same reason, it was...
