Who actually cares what wheels you fit? If you think they look good then screw it.
That's the problem with the 'net. Too many retards spouting rubbish trying to knock you down a peg.
He doesn't mean the plates look dirty lol. He means they look too fussy. Something minimalist, if that's the right phrase, looks a lot neater.
For example my old flamer...

Don't swap the side repeaters. They look better in orange as they blend in to the paint.
People always told me to swap mine on my Flamer. I always thought they looked better for being less noticeable, clear would stick out like a sore thumb.
Car looks smart though :)
Most people with car's like these go for agreed value etc. on insurance, so hopefully he'll get back what it's worth. A sad sight though :( Poor bloke.
Will do dude. Going to wait 'til there's a little more progress. Not much is happening atm due to weather and Driftworks being s**t and not having my wheels in stock lol.
Steering wheel is on, coilovers should be arriving tomorrow. Wheels are on order but there's none in the country :( Waiting to see when they'll be available! Still got the lazy eye kit next to me, might tackle that tomorrow lol.
K-Tec coilovers, 20mm spacers at the front, 15mm spacers at the rear.
It's awesome. It's so old! Haha. Everything about it just reminds me of sitting in my Dad's old mk1 Escorts and Anglia's on our way to shows. Loads of character!
Since when does the house you live in affect your child's upbringing? Surely that's down to family, not a house?!
Tbf, at 17 i was paying £1700 tpft on a mk1 1.4 RT. So £2200 doesn't sound a bad price at your age!!
@DaveDreads - I can't see why anyone would hate a classic Mini. They're awesome. A classic Beetle however, god awful car lol - at least the Mini handles, unlike the Beetle. And it looks good!
I'll whack my final shot's of my Flamer up being as she leaves me Saturday. Will be sad to see it go!

The Apex kit as mentioned by Alex does come highly rated, i've not experienced it myself but no end of people give it praise for value. Obviously you won't beat Bilsteins but as you said, money is an issue. It's something worth considering if you feel you need to upgrade it. Don't forget a lower...
The great thing about VTS' is a lot of folks just think 'bah, it's a chavvy Saxo'... They're bloody quick car's for what they are. Admittedly, they're no rocket ship but they'll stick to the arse of a 172 for a good while! Surprise a lot of bigger cars. You'll love it! :)
And a splitter... Not dead sure on the bonnet though?! There's a flamer near me with a black/carbon bonnet with Apex i think written all down the side and i always think the bonnet spoils it. Clearly a track car though so guessing it's function>form.
