Throttle body fault is down to the throttle body. Mine started doing it a few months back then all of a sudden it died!
Went upto nearly 3,000 rpm with no load then in gear it wouldnt rev past idle. Was very dangerous so I would recommend changing it ASAP.
Got mine from Cliospares - very...
What sort of milage should I expect from my 172 providing its serviced regulary?
I mean before it starts costing me and arm and a leg on replacement parts?
im thinking about 120k?
In cold conditions the lump uses more fuel then normally, you can't escape it! On my early shift I start her up at 5:30 and within 2 mins I'm on the motorway, at the speed limit of course
I would say the colder the better, that is without getting ice crystals into the airbox!
Started my bike up the other day and i could see the sparkly crstals in the air getting sucked in through the nose!
Nice mate!
Fired the 6 up earlier today and I was surprised it started first time, not started her for 3 weeks and especially with the cold weather too!
there shouldnt be a technique to starting a car! you should turn the key and it should start.
soulds like it could be the TDC sensor, same symptoms as mine on the Cup and it was the TDC. easy job for the DIY mechanic too
I know the way to the ET and could prob get to the pub too!
Looking forward to washing the old girl tomorrow and thrashing the life out of her in the afternoon!
Well said that man!
I find alot of haters on here where people are trying to show off their pride and joy. If I dont like or agree with something i wont slate the owner, I will just keep my gob shut!
could be anything mate, best bet is to take it into a shop and let them have a look at it. it doesnt cost anything for them to tell you whats wrong with it then you can decide what you want to do - let them sort it or try and do it yourself if its simple!

BTB is supposed to be one of the good ones, Paul had one on his and the quality if second to none. Slightly out of your price range at £350 but worth the extra if you can stretch!
