When removing a ABS Sensor if soak it in WD40 and use a wire brush. If you get the Torx bolt moving work it back a forth spraying WD40 at all times making sure it's working as it should. DONT think oh it's coming and keep loosing it off they are known to snap!

As far as in aware you're best of replacing the whole driveshaft from Renault. I've heard of people changing the CV joint but there never the same again.

How can you modify it to fit? Look at this photo this 172 is £650 it has 87k on clock. But read engine problem. Is it worth it?

Thanks. Just a little update. I've turned it over I can feel the cams rotating and the timing belt so I guess somthing has went bang.

What do I need to get around it? Just so I know will the 172 run the same as 182 power wise with 182 manifold and ECU

I appreciate your help lads. How easy is it to remove the engine can I leave the subframe in? Or does it need to come out to remove everything. I'd imagine I can remove the engine and box through the top with everything bolted on? Am I right in saying both 182 and 172 engine are the same bar...

It sounds like the starter is just spinning and not engaging into the fly wheel.

The engine won't crank. So how can I test it?

Best bet? Rebuild it or replace wth a donar?

Well I'm a time served fitter but is it really worth the hassle in striping it and finding that the engine is knackered?
