Finally got round to taking it on track for the first time last week, few pics:
As a standard car (apart from the sticky tyres) it did really well, going forward I'd like to upgrade the brakes and the brake fluid, drop it slightly on some Eibach's, Powerflex all the bushes and get it fast...
Just a small update, AD08R's on all round now, Team Heko wind deflectors fitted, and a quick clean!
So far the tyres seem fantastic, really surprised me how much grip they have in the wet, and haven't really had chance to push it in the dry yet but happy with the initial "bite" so far!
Hello mate, love it already haha! Well we've got a company in Colchester who've done loads of stuff for all the guys in the car scene and their work is top notch, I'll just take it there and then they'll wrap it with 3m vinyl! They've quoted £240 to do all the bits I want doing just for reference :)
Quick update, Lamin-X'd the fogs, looks good from a distance haha!
First pair of new tyres here, Advan Neova AD08R's, waiting for payday to get the 2nd, looking forward to having a go on these!

don't finish work until 5.30 but will come down straight after as it's nice and close!
Few bits done today, gave it a clean inside and out as it was filthy, still needs a proper detail though (will be getting done in better weather!). Fitted a new rain sensor that seems to be working, winner, and have ordered some new Advan Neova AD08R's for the front as one is now ridiculously...
No new pics, hose has split so can't wash it at the moment and not taking pics of it dirty haha! Have fitted a Pipercross panel filter, led sidelight and numberplate bulbs, and Silvatec indicator bulbs all round, and just driven it! Next plans will be matching tyres all round, Akrapovic and a...
Finally back with a Renaultsport on the drive, had a 182 5 years ago that I absolutely loved, and regret getting rid of to this day! Only did due to needing a diesel, now I'm working a mile and a half from home which is lovely I can go back to petrol! Was looking at Megane 230's and 250's...
niggly faults - ive had a few on mine lol! cv joint (knocking on full lock and bumping), coolant temp sensor (acting like a rev counter!), arb mounts/other bushes etc, just the normal really! obviously you want the oil to be nice and fresh on the dipstick, not thick and gloopy, no bubbles in the...
is it me or does a 182 mean 182 ps? which equates to about 180 bhp? but like f**k there are many 182's that came out of the factory 180bhp, even near it! my 182 with janspeed de-cat, cat-back system, bmc cda, jam-sport matched inlets & re-map made 183 bhp on jam-sports rollers. so either my 182...
loved my quiksilver and seeing that just makes me think, had exactly the same buckets in it as well and were extremely comfortable! never got round to putting a cage in it though lol!
the memories!
cardinal sin looked in cars for sale and saw the indigo 106 rallye, always had a soft spot for them and sorely tempted lol! just need that arb mount fixed and car will be good again, still thinking though!
lol not free im afraid! its annoying i do love it when its working but i keep looking at other things (corsa vxr *cough cough* lol) and i've got ast top mounts, strut braces and loads of carbon coming! do i keep it and be happy, or sell up all and put towards a corsa?!
little update, got the car up in the air and had a look, exhaust is fine is somehow making strange noises because the engine cover is loose (d'oh lol!) but the other anti roll bar mount on the driver side is fubarrd! which aint good because its a powerflex one i only had fitted 1000 miles ago...
all my cars get serviced every 5k regardless, allowed to warm up etc etc they do get driven hard on the odd occasion but no more than anyone else, just seems like i cant get past a month without a silly niggly little problem!
its a 2005 plate! got rid of my old 106 after i had a stackload of problems, bought an astra coupe had no problems in 6 months but wanted something i could track so went french again, and its biting me in the arse! am seriously considering putting her up for sale already!
am becoming seriously disillusioned with my car, has done 21k now and things just keep going wrong! 2 weeks after i bought it the cv was knocking, so had to replace the driveshaft first kick in the nuts (£200!!!) then the back brakes started squeaking and groaning, new pads and discs solved...
hmm yer it feels like its making good power to me, but i know the caf on my old pug made a big difference! yer 13bhp was a good number to make! dont think it helps the good old coolant temperature sensor is playing up now lol!
hmm seems like there is a lot of variables in the power people make, which is why i got miffed lol! aint got a clue what it is at the wheels, only have the at the fly reading from jamsport!
it wasnt standard though, it had the bmc and exhaust system which is why i am a bit worried! it hasnt got a cold air feed to the bmc yet, but i wouldnt have thought it makes that much difference in power?
hi guys just thought id post to see if my engine is making the right numbers, as im a bit curious! i have an 05 plate 182 with a bmc, janspeed de-cat & system, matched inlets & re-mapped by jam-sport (top place)
before they fitted the inlets & mapped it, it was making 170bhp at the fly? now it...
lol at the man love! it needed a wash it cant be a track **** yet i still have to use it every day:(got my nice corbeau revolution turn up today though, will get that in soon as hating standard drivers seat lol!
