The omp one shouldnt bring on the lights the wiring that goes into the boss doesnt have much leave way and still moves the squib, aslong as its set correctly it should be fine
Thanks for the input!
@JB21 Ive read your project thread before ? I watched the video at oulton and the car seemed fairly balanced with 90-110 and that was with an arb?
@JamesBryan Just feel there should be a lot more response and feedback, I like to work the wheel and the car to react to...
@NorthloopCup I hope its okay to ask.. I read some previous threads and saw you had the 4100's but thought a 500 front and 400 rear was probably more suited? What was your reasoning for those rates? At 400 all around right now Im thinking more of 570 rear and 500 front as I prefer the car to be...
Yeah used. It seems that they used to get supplied with shorter springs and this spacer or something, Ive been in contact with ast and they have the required springs, I will be sending them for servicing and valving hopefully. Though they are real smooth, they're just not firm enough.
People with fairly high spec/tuned track or race 1*2s.. Is it worth it? Im not sure if its that my car needs a proper setup or my expectations of the these clios are too high but I feel every step of upgrading and fine tuning never goes the way I think it will.
Currently have strengthened...
I know its been ordered but for future check out http://atecautotechnic.co.uk/en/
Service is as you would expect and the quality of the fittings are top quality. http://atecautotechnic.co.uk/ATEC%20Catalogue%202014.pdf
@imprezaworks I was under the impression the ride would be more harsh, also put in strengthened polybushed wishbones at the same time. Just goes to show what quality coilovers can do
Would just get new ones instead of replacing the bushes, come with ball joints as well. They are increased positive caster which will improve over the older ones, not sure if its a dramatic difference though. Also only go oem for them as the ones listed on ebay for a 1*2 wont be right
You mean...
Get a whole new shaft for 55 quid. A few people use these (inc me) and they are fine. Although that part of the block could do with being ground down anyway

Got a 1.6 mk2 about 110k on the clocks, has a fresh mot but the clutch release needs doing as clutch is real stiff/notchy, not very clean but pulls fairly well, has 2 ps3 on the front and 2 off the car that could come with it, epas and various trim bits and pieces..
What was happening with the pads? I have ds1.11 btw and you wont go wrong, I swapped out for oem for a bit and the initial cold bite is better with the ds, if they are burnished properly that is
Yeah they are compatible. Its pretty easy I think its a torx that holds the belt from the floor and a 17mm for the top, you take back the trim and I think theres another torx for the tensioner but not sure, its simple as you will see when you take back the trim!
When I was fitting a new column I accidentally touched the metal prongs (red and black cable) onto the column with it plugged in and it sparked. I tired a couple of new fuses but nothing.. Is there anything else I can try or will I need a new stalk? Thanks in advance
PS3 tires alll around, 100 quid for set on eBay. Springs, pads and camber bolts. 250 quids worth. I wouldn’t bother with anything else, save up for 1*2. Maybe a headlight resto kit as well ;)
@cmcquitty
I will be using an older tilton reverse mount setup. Its been on hold for a bit, will need fittings, clutch setup and brackets to finish it. I will be going for a willwood slave cylinder for the clutch. Space is very limited but its do able
