Thanks for the replies chaps! Just need to find a friendly MOT tester somewhere for when the time is right!
Interesting to hear about a flat spot! May want to get some extra bits before a map!
So I’m looking into buying a decat pipe to finally enable me to fit my Ktec ultra exhaust.
Just want to get a heads up as to if this will throw up any dash lights or cause issues that need other things to sort them?
Any advice much appreciated
So going to give the front arches a good clean and protect and spotted these plastic parts (presume they are guards for dirt) cracked and deformed. My question is will it damage anything if I remove them as they are pretty knackered anyway?!
Cheers
So I bought a cat back Ktec ultra performance supersport exhaust second hand last week and just wanted to get some advice before I start anything. The stock centre to cat section (1st pic below) seems to be v banded?
The Ktec section is just sleeved over so would I be right in thinking I can...
So went on a bit of a driving mission to pick this lot up (including free boot mat) the other day. A Ktec ultra performance supersport exhaust and a Powerflex bushed dogbone!
Gave the exhaust a little polish by hand and it’s scrubbed up nice. Can’t wait to fit it. Bought some new mounts for it...
Thank you both for the replies. Found some washers in the garage so stuck them on. The idle vibration is definitely noticeable ?. Yet to take it out on a drive yet!
So I just picked up a second hand dogbone with purple poly bushes. I have realised it does not have any washers for the smaller side (2 I believe).
My question is what is their role and how important are they!?
Rather ask this before fitting.
Cheers
Been a long time since posting. Due to various things I’ve not had much time or funds to do anything meaningful to the car apart from some cleaning etc. Well I was looking at what was next and decided the steering wheel needed changing. The original is a bit bus like so a deep dish suede...
Just literally fixed my dodgy light! Got it out of the spoiler then split it all down.
The pins on the white connector and the sockets soldered on the board looked pretty corroded so I took my dremel and a wire wheel to then. I then wire wheeled the solder joints on the board. The internal...
So my wife got me a really awesome gift! A DA polisher. This gives me the perfect tool to sort out that common yellow/hazy light problem!
Below are a couple of before pics. I had already gone at them a few weeks back with sandpaper from 800 grit to 2500 grit then used meguiars plast-rx. This...
Cheers for the info! Any ideas where the drain hole is? Also think once drainage is done I’ll need to give the arches some love with rust treatment and fresh under seal/stone chip
I’ve got the car completely stripped mate. No water in the rear bench area just down behind where the rear quarter cards would be in the side skirt area. The rear arch looks a touch rusted and letting water through when driving as the wheel is flicking water at the hole!
So first time driving my Clio In substantial rain and when stopping then going at lights or traffic I noticed a sloshing sound coming from the back area of the car. Once I pulled over I looked into the side sections behind the rear quarter panels and found my passenger side full of water!!!!!! I...
Haven’t had a chance to really check it out yet. Been busy getting my new brakes on and adjusting the handbrake etc. Will hopefully look at it this week!
Update: I’ve read up about the rc5+ pads I’ve got. Got some pics of the info. Bottom of image 1 under note and the circled bit in second image. Anyone who is or has run these would greatly appreciate tips etc.
So recently fitted my brake discs and pads then went for a drive and heard a metal sort of tapping sound from front right. Jacked up and removed wheel to find my brake pads have moment up and done and slightly between disc and Caliper back and piston. Could it be a sticky piston not pushing...
Update:
Fitted the rear discs and pads today and even managed to get a couple of coats of black onto the calipers to match the front. Took the car out for a spin to bed the setup in a bit and initial impression is wow! What a difference. The cars slows down so fast now. The abs feels like it...
So I’ve had this problem with both my original spoiler and then my cup spoiler I recently fitted. When it’s first plugged in the brake light works fine but then when I check it a while later it will not illuminate? Really erking me but can’t really think what it could be. Possibly an earth...
My @NorthloopCup hubs arrived back a few days ago and wow, what a lovely set of kit!! Very impressed with the quality of it. Got round to fitting it today even if it did rain all morning.
The process begins. I was pretty slow at putting it all back together but wanted to take my time so I...
