My next aim now will be brakes. Brembo HC disc with maybe the ds2500 or r5+ pad. Getting some proper fluid in to and fitting the braided lines. If funds allow I’ll be getting the stud kit and some small spacers. Although iirc the @NorthloopCup hubs widen the track slightly or am I imaging that?
Yeah did think about this tbh. Just what I could afford at the time though! I’d say after doing some good miles on them and some “spirited” driving they seem to be pretty good. But when it comes to a track day that will be another kettle of fish! Could possibly look into the bilstein b14 kit...
So finally decided to get the next upgrade underway. Removing my hubs for the northloopcup bumpsteer/roll centre modficstions! Heard brilliant stuff about this so very excited to get them done.
Think I read up about that a while ago. The modified hubs right?! Looking awesome!!!! Just a bit more cash than I was looking to spend but of course the work and development not to mention the performance warrant it. I was looking at around £420 for PMS bump steer and roll centre kit so I...
In need of some help! I’ve revently lowered the car and can really feel the affect on the bump steer. This is being remedied with the PMS bump steer kit. My question is that their roll centre kit says it requires Laguna hubs? So will it not fit on my car in the existing set up? Don’t really...
So whilst still mulling over what upgrades to buy next I decided to try and paint some exterior bits up in a shade as close to the wheel anthracite as possible. After trauling through various threads it seemed the general concensus was “rover stone grey”. Off I toddled to pick some up and upon...
Small update. Adjusted the suspension to get the rear and front sitting just right. A couple of hours and a tape measure sorted it out. Looks just right at the moment IMO.
Bumped into another Cliosport.net member (can’t remember his name) the other evening whilst enjoying the warm weather we...
So feeling refreshed and slightly more positive after some research I began the annoying task of trying to get my now super low front end up enough to get my jack under. Some chopped up wood planks did the job. Finally, with the weight off the wheels, I could get at the archliner and find the...
So I finally started fitting my Ktec coilovers on Friday (typical it was dry when I started then pissed down all day). I’d picked up various tools to help, a breaker bar, adjustable spanner and this Clarke impact wrench. The impact wrench although cheap (£90 with next day delivery) did come with...
Good shout. Just looked and yes they have hunter so good news. I’ll be making a phone call shortly. For a reference what is the average cost of a full geo set up?
One last bit. Do the rears sit like this? The bottom OEM rubber doesn’t fit the adjustment seat top nor the bottom of that where it meets the beam. A large washer then the bolt is on the underside to secure it directly to the beam (metal the metal?)
Okay so does anyone have Ktec coilovers fitted that can get a pic of how there springs are wound up. I wacked up the collar as far as I could really. The pre load spring doesn’t look overly happy though. I’ve modded my bumper brackets and liners just want to see how others set theirs up without...
Just had a little scroll around the web about this. Not really much clearer with pure motorsport stating I’d need to change this Laguna hubs! What will the benefits be in fitting this apart from roll centre being brought back closer the the centre of gravity
Okay dokey. I believe I set them at lowest at first when fitting (spring just meeting the collar at bottom and spring cap up top. The pick above of the whole car is taken after winding them up at least 3 cm still not much lift. Wondering if the coilovers option was the one to go for! Suppose a...
Hahaha yeah ended up having a go myself. Was a little worried but it was easier than expected. Bought a cheapish impact wrench and breaker bar to help out. I put new top mount donuts on like the image below. Look correct?
So to get the car higher as it’s way to low and scrubbing I can barely...
So my plan is to get the chassis up to scratch before starting any real power/engine upgrades. This will take some time as previously mentioned so I had the idea to get the car on a dyno to see what figures it makes as standard (apart from the Ktec induction kit) in order to get a base figure to...
Dogging hadn’t crossed my mind but hey always good to get ideas but jokes aside it helps to put of the mrs wanting to go out in it! Plus can’t have the kids In there means it remains a toy! I love having it stripped!
Only a small update. Whilst still looking for somebody to help fit the coilovers I had a thought that I may as well get on and order some other bits to get the cars chassis right and ready for some track use. These Ktec braided lines should do nicely for starters!
So although I’m focussed on...
As title suggests I’ve got a set of Ktec coil overs to fit to my Clio 182. I’m currently waiting on some new febi top mounts and bearings but then will be ready to fit. I’m wondering if anybody with knowledge/experience in doing this would be able to help out. I don’t own an impact wrench...
