Id look for one with a recent rebuild, or very comprehensive service history. Its worth joining RTOC and having a look on the classifieds, read the buyers guide etc.

If you change the oil regularly and arent unrealistic as to what boost you can run on standard components the 5 engine should be about as reliable, maybe a little more favouring the valver. The electrics on 5s arent always too good, but it is an old Renault after all. And if the 5 engine goes...
ANY kind of new headlights will almost cetainly be an improvement. Brun said they use a newer type of bulb fitment so should be better visibility wise. I dont get why everyone complains about lexus lights being common, for something like 8 years unless you had over £250 to spend there was...
