Are any of the dash bulbs on ultraleds (or whatever the sites called) a direct swap for the Renault ones? As they have the resistors built in. Being Reanult Im guessing it couldnt be that simple.
Are cut down plates legal? As in the ends lopped off where theyre blank, as you can buy those plates that are completely cut out and just have a few mm of white following the contour of the letters and numbers, which Im sure somebody said were legal when they were posted up.
I emailed some guys mentioned in the thread about mk2 indiglo dials (for when the refund is sorted out) Heres the email I got back of them:
Hi Paul,
Thank you for your enquiry,we are sorry to hear your previous efforts to have some dials made came to no avail. We can make dials for any car...
Ive emailed them about a Mk1 group buy. But going on the way the Mk1 Dials group buy went, youd be hard pushed to find 10 definate people never mind 30.
are you talking about the clear glass? I was thinking the same thing, Its just 3 times brighter so shouldnt NEED clear glass, it should just be an improvement over the original light source. Saying that though I dont recall seeing a car that has HID and doesnt have clear glass, not that Ive been...
From what I saw on ebay it depends on what k they are, 6000k is white->8000k blue->10000k blue/purpleish->12000k+ purple. The ratings dont reflect how powerfull they are, just a different colour temperature or something.
Id guess custom glass would be really expensive, but custom plastic might be worth a shot, then you have this self leveling/washer problem tho. Im sure for the washers you could T into the windscreen washer jets or somthing. Anybody got any ideas to get round the self leveling?
From what I saw on ebay tho, £150 doesnt seem to get you Hi/Lo Xenons, which I guess youd be after, these are $300-$400. And will they plug straight into a Renault wiring plug, I doubt theyd stock Renault stuff. Much more likely to be North American domestic models/high end German/Jap only...
I just got back from holiday today, any more news guys? Ive bought stuff off colin before and he was a top bloke, so even tho there was a huuuuge wait i wasnt worried it was anything to do with him, and was all to do with the company.
A 200bhp GTT should be putting out more torqe than the F7R id have thought and the engine should be lighter so why wouldnt it be a match (well up to like 110/120 anyway)
I reckon if youve got 180 and Nitrous then youd do a clio GTT with 200 BHP
Not if it ran out of NOS...
doh - my post was about accelerator cable not clutch  have used same method on the clutch cable though, mines gone about 3 times, can change one about half an hour now :D
Or you could try my method - painful though! I was abouut 50 miles from home and it snapped just where it goes over the pedal. So I went to the boot, ripped a 3 foot length off my remote cable for my amp. I then attached it to the remainder of the cable and drove home with a manual throttle...
I was planning to get the following for my Kenwood - Aux-in cable (£28.99) and a gold plated 2 x phono - 3.5mm stereo jack cable (£8.49), would this setup not do the same job as the ICE link?
Is yours a 16v? Id ask marcus if so, If its an RT If you can get a quote of Liverpool victoria there would probably be no change as there is only a tiny capacity change of the engine (like .2 litres or something) If yours is a 1.2/RSI then the cost will probably fall somewhere between the cost...
Its a thin plastic film sitting behind the dials which actually lights up. So the bulbs arent used to shine through it. As for how they get power I can only assume they tap into the existing wiring for the OE bulbs or a suitable 12v supply.
Dimma Clio Cosworth surely must be up there, dont know if it was a modded engine but even if it wasnt itd still be well fast. Sold for around 10k last year didnt it?
You can get the Extreme bulk kit for £150 - http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/default.php?cPath=73_72http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/default.php?cPath=73_72
And dont forget you have to pay postage and import duty on that ebay price. Id go with the dynamat extreme, its expensive for a reason.
