I dont think you have done anything wrong. If i crashed my car and the insurance company fixed it, i then sold it on a year later, no one would ever know that it been in a crash. A lot of 2nd hand cars will have been in an accident at some point, but you wont know as they have been...

They wont cancel your insurance If you are paying installments, they will deduct the cost of the installments from the payout of your vehicle, but you will still have cover till the end of your policy thats what we do anyways
