Doubt he would get a warranty job on a 60mm drop, the drop will put more strain on the suspension joints etc, and wont the driveshaft be going to the CV at the wrong angle due to the drop in height ?

A good trick is to put a wheel lying flat on the ground under the edge of the car while you are changing, you alloy might get damaged if it slipped but you and the rest of the car are less likely to get damaged. Remember to tighten up the nuts in the correct order corner to corner etc.

Just out of curiousity I weighed a uniroyal rainsport tyre.. brand new it weighs 7.7 KG :o That means a standard 172 alloy should weigh about 8KGs .. sound about right ?

Anything is possible, if anything I would imagine a supercharger would be better for the 172 engine and more usable power. The k-tec turbo should put out about 250bhp apparently

Funnily enough last time I bout alloys I kerbed them after 3 months too, that must be the point where your not 100% concentrating on the kerbs.. Maybe you can get them re-furbed, look in the yellow pages ?
