just take you time lifting it out mate. take it out with the box on. lift it with the box hanging down at an angle and put it back in the same. watch the pulleys on the inner wing they get very close.
i have done 2 now. it is quite straightforward. just take your time.
what clutch did they fit ? they did a super low price quote for me but insisted on using a relined clutch. utter shiteness...
hope they used a valeo..trouble free
Looked down tonight and i was doing 160 mph !
The needle when stationery is at 100mph and wont drop below. On the move the needle goes all the way round. Stops at the 6 oclock position.....
Any ideas ? New speedo ?
I had a leak on the selector as most renaults do. I fitted the seal kit that can be fitted without stripping the box. Worked well. No more leak :)
Bought it from renault dealer....
Its a bit fiddly but goes in with gearbox in situe.
that is precisely what happened to my phase 1. just stopped with all belts in place. checked compression and all cylinders had gone. i replaced it with another engine from a phase 1 . really pleased with it and by doing it myself worked out good financially. i did find my problem but i think it...
Sorry mate but that needs a proper looking at before you do any further damage. Doesnt sound like the dephaser normally does when it goes.

I was being sort of serious. Had a problem at christmas. The crank pulley fell in half at the damper. Such a pity as it was a good engine (just run in at 120k). It had been serviced and not neglected like i teased you guys. It was due a belt change which i had booked ( oh the irony ).
The crank...
I was heading East in my Sunflower. You were heading west in yours. Reg was EAY or UAY not sure. Was about 7.30 i think.
Nearly turned around and chased after you...
Ok so if so many dephasers are failing there must be a pattern. Is it a lack of oil changes ? Manufacturing or design fault ?
I am quite guilty of not sticking to service intervals. Take the approach of fix it when it breaks ;) As stated never had the dephaser changed and never used a...
Looks ok to me.
Why would the dephaser need changing at less than 30k ? May be im just lucky but my 172 has seen 120K and no sign of the dephaser going.
Is there some envy going on here. What is your 182 worth now you can get one <30k for this money ??? belts done or not..
you have made a rookie mistake, stuff happens. dont let it turn into a rookie disaster. get somebody to look at it professionally. no shortcuts mate. extreme caution advised......
always used a local garage to me. Never had a problem. Just need to check their pedigree. Its a mate who does mine and i wouldnt trust anyone else to look at it , specialist or not..
