Are you certain its the power steering pump ? Common problem is the tensioner on the aux belt. I know because mine is being repaired now. Does it sound like it has a supercharger fitted or air is escaping ?

Can you recall if they fitted a new clutch ? I have heard from other sources that they use a recon clutch. I thiught this practice died out years ago ! I have heard they have the friction plates rivetted back onto an old plate. Bad practice this !

I dont agree with this approach at all. As a seller i have always been honest with my descriptions. If someone wants to buy it then they come and view it. Have been pestered for pics etc in the past and they dont even bother replying. Just a waste of time. Never had a problem selling them...

The passenger side window on phase 1 172 will not go down from drivers side. It will go up and down from the passenger side but only up from the drivers side. I have swapped over switches and no difference. Help.....

It didnt like water ! Just got a bit wet ( not submerged ) and that was a it. Still works but sounds like a wounded duck !

I doubt it has been changed on that mileage as the interval is 72k. If the car is older than 5 yrs it should have been changed irrespective of mileage. May have been the reason it was sold. Is it a 172/182 ?

It has been done. I have a recipt from Renault Slough for £700 ish . Was done 3 yrs ago ( 40K since then ). Glad i didnt pay it :)

just read the interval is 70k. has a full history but no invoice for the parts so my guess wasnt done. what do you recommend to fit ?

Did I only see 2 x Phase 1 172 in the collectors area at Silverstone ? I was there in my Sunflower ( the only Clio with one eye ! ) and the black track car ( Schweppy ? ). I felt a bit outnumbered by the later models ..... Does this reflect their rarity ?

dont compare the feel of the brakes on a Focus to those on a RS. To be honest the brakes on the Renault are quite exceptional for road use.
