Phase 1 172. While braking heavily the car pulls to the left. When the abs kicks in the car straigtens up again. I guess this is due to a sticking caliper. Any ideas on which side would be sticking and how i go about fixing it....... Otherwise car steers and drives very straight. Cheers

Phase 1 172. On buying this car the front fogs did not work. Closer inspection fuse blown. Replace fuse and it blows immediately. Before i get the meters out is this a common problem ? Where do i start ?

Car is Phase 1 172. Can i fit 3mm spacers on rear and still use the standard wheel bolts ?

On the race car we vac out all air to remove moisture and refill with nitrogen. More stable and less affected by temp change making pressures consistent.

oops - sorry guys. i remember now i had my belt done at the same time as replacing the pump. the pump bearing failed and started to lose water. still worth doing while all the other gubbins are off if the car is an early 172.

Anyone have a diagram for the fusebox in the interior and the ratings for each fuse ?

Wrong - the water pump drives off the cambelt. Change it at the same time if you can afford it. The pump is about £45. If it goes then you will have to do the belt again !

Sorting the handling !

Not sure of the handling at the moment. Doesnt feel planted. Needs acouple of tyres and a track for a start. Probably stay with oem dampers and eibachs. Any suggestions ?

Local supplier has GAZ rear struts available at £59 a piece. How do these compare to standard fitment which i was originally going for ? I believe the Renault items are about the same price but GAZ are adjustable in compression and rebound. Any thoughts ?

I have just fitted a new PE2 195/50/15 to the rear nearside of my Phase 1 172. On right handers the tyre is catching the arch liner. Is this normal ? The tyre does look wider than the Pilot sx ( also 195/50/15 ) which was on previously. Is this normal ? There is a very small gap whn the car is...
