from the amount of people on here who hate those tyres, id stay away, never driven on em myself but theres more than enough people on here who have and dont rate them
go to your local Motor World mate, get yourself some Slick 50 Power Steering Fluid, its VERY good, and may improve things, get good feedback from customers on this stuff (I work at the St Helens branch)
its £4.99
when i took it the garage they couldnt find anything wrong, so they suggested changing the rack, which i agreed to, and when they undone the track rod ends the rack was really floppy so i thought that might have been it
right, it did seem better after i had the new rack, but its not, after drivin to Burnley today it was quite scary.......
what it seems to be doing now is, i can be driving along straight, hit a bump in the road, the steering wheel stays in the same position however the wheels seem to be going...
the kit for the 172 is a special kit as far as i know, make sure you got the right one.....
they only make about 10 special kits, the rest are the universal box with suggested adapters that might be needed, which they make
well the tyres didnt arrive today so im havin em done later in the week
gettin em at Top Gear in Burnley, £120 for the pair fitted as there matchin a local place who will do them at that price
i do rate the AVS however only got em on the back so ill be able to let you know better once there...
well there goin on at 12 today
will let you know what i think
should be havin em moved to the back though..........movin my Yoko AVS Sport to the front.....
id go for BP Ultimate mate if thats what you can get, i use Shell but thats because i pass it every night on the way to the g/fs, in fact depending what route i take home i can pass 3 diff Shells
the KTR Kevlar (EBC Black Stuff) pads are excellent value for money, the only time they have ever let me down was braking from 100 once but i was on em rather hard, think they jus got too hot
got Ferodo DS Performance on now, still givin em time to bed in, they seem pretty good but do produce...
£3 - £4k will get you a good GTT transplant with some mods to go with it
i bought my donor car for £350 IIRC, had the engine rebuilt and loads of other stuff done
you might get away with it, you might not
what offset wheels have you got
what size tyres
personally i think you might have to do a bit of trimmin to some of the arch linings
are they any good ?
cos a sponge has like flat edges on it, its easy to wash a car with it, when you use a mitt do you not get loads of bits that you have missed ?
i know Meguiars has jus made a microfibre one, part of the Ultimate range
ive got a Draper 4xD cell torch, its 39cm long, metal, and reasonanly heavy
cost me about £20
its a bloody good torch actually, loads and loads of light, bought it to keep on eye on my new engine when i got in of a night, jus check everythin was ok, piddly torches i had before i couldnt see...
