yea change the coolant temp sensor, its near the dizzi cap on that engine.....
probably a brown plug which when undone reveals a white cap on the end of the sensor (usually white anywayz)
either get a replacement element from the likes of BMC/K&N/Green/Pipercross
or get the Hill Power induction kit, dont bother with the others there not at all shielded by heat and will possibly lose you power.......
Money and a donor car, dont bother buying bits seperate its not worth the hassle............oh and 16v driveshafts
Not sure on that but if its a cheap conversion id look into gettin that done on mine, though dont let the choke put you off, its not THAT bad....
Mine does struggle to start a...
fully synth is only too thin if the grade is thin, not all synthetics are thin its totally dependant on the grade of the oil.........
Mobil 1 Motorsport is a popular choice which is fully synthetic and 15W-50, i.e not thin......
Elf Competition ST 15W-50 is also approved by BenR so it must...
Optimax IS 98 RON
Ultimate IS 97 RON
if anyone wants to argue both those points simply look at the websites its all on there, fact
plus ive never understood why people put 95RON into a 172, you bought a performance car, put proper petrol in it........would you put sh*te oil in it...
ring Andy at GDI for a price on GAZ coilovers, thats what ive got on mine
height AND damping adjustable for probably less than £500.........
not sure if they do em for the 1.2 16v yet but they might

for the price of a CDA there is no competition, the Maxogen will be £300+ and will it really produce better gains than a CDA for DOUBLE the cost ?..........i very much doubt it....

CDA all the way, there really is NO competition as all of the above are VERY similar filters, all good quality, yet the BMC is far far cheaper
just because you havent heard of BMC much before doesnt mean there crap, they make the F1 filters for the Ferarri and the BMW Williams teams....
go to your local Motor World and ask to have a look in there latest Green Filters catalogue
the latest one has tons of diff hose in the back of it.....
along with lots of other little ducts and adapters etc

oh and if you want a ride in a Clio GTT mate come to GDI with me when i go down next for Andy to turn my boost up for me......
although i aint gonna let you drive it, as i dont let anyone drive my car, i will take you for a ride in it......
just how do you work that one out mate ?
the 16v engine is sh*te for value for money mods, it takes mega money to get any decent bhp gains out of em, with a GTT engine you can get decent genuine gains relatively cheaply
not even sure if there still trading ???........
they used to be pretty good on the GTT stuff but they havent updated there website in ages or been on any of the forums........
