Just for the record, the phase 2 rear bumper on it had been well fitted and inside the boot and the rear floorpan was all original so it had just been fitted for cosmetic reasons, not because of a rear shunt. Couldn't really make a definite judgement on the paint match as it was pi$$ing it down...
Oh yeah, I'll never find another in that colour (which was quite nice in the flesh - better than the pics), but tbh I'd prefer silver anyway and they're far more common.
Should have heard the thing when a few revs were added!! banging & popping away like hell!! I took my Dad with me who has 40 years experience as a mechanic and I trust his judgement.
I had major doubts when I heard the engine already running as I got there - people only do that when they've...
Right guys - been to look at it and..........NO!! Major misfire on the engine, bad smell of burning oil, badly fitted front bumper/valance and no paperwork to support a cambelt change.
And it was already running when I got there which I didn't like - I wanted to fire it up myself.
Suffice to...
Yeah, I know - I was just thinking that the previous owner, or whoever fitted it, might have figured, if they'd got to take the rear valance off anyway to make a good neat job of the cut out, they might as well take the oppertunity to fit a phase 2 bumper at the same time. But I'll make sure I...
Well, I could only try it LOL! but as they've only just reduced it by £1000, I can't see them budging on the price any further, but you never know, and as they saying goes - 'If you don't ask, you don't get' :)
But I won't be here tomorrow as you know - so I've got to go today, raining or not. (I'll have to take a massive umbrella and a Microfibre drying towel LOL!)
My old man's a mechanic (has been all his life but just took an early retirement a few months back) so he could have done it but obviously hasn't got the facilities at home.
If the car hasn't had it done when I go and look at it it's a concern as it should really have had one by now so you...
Getting heavier here though, in fact it's tipping down :( !!
It's amazing how eager you are, Paul with someone else's money - yet you deliberate for ages over a camera, an exhaust, an SD card! LOL! :D
You wouldn't want me to make a rash decision and regret it now, would you? LOL!
Found out the car has done 61,000 miles has service history and would come with a full MOT.
How much, roughly would a cambelt change cost on one of these? (assuming it's not had it done)
It's been pointed out that the phase 2 rear bumper isn't the best colour match (which might just be the slightly poor pics), but also that it's labled up as an 'exclusive' which was the ltd. edition of 172 in green, right? How come you guys didn't pick up on that? :)
So when I phone up in the morning, if it's done over roughly that figure the cambelt should really have been done then? (slow typing LOL! been answered now - cheers!)
I need it to be pretty reliable as it would be my daily use car (I also have a black modifed concours winning 1989 XR2 as a...
So it has! Oh b******s!! might not bother now :( Unless it's been done to accomodate that twin tailpipe exhaust?
Is that a tape player I see - shouldn't it have a CD?
Hi folks :)
First post on here (So hello!), but some of you might recognise me from my username on a few other forums (Detailing World for one).
My Dad (182 owner) also registered as a member a few months back, but I don't think he's posted much :o
Anyway, what do you make of this, is it...
