I'll see if any of the lads up my way have a decibel meter.
Hopefully will be alright! Honest, I thought mine sounded more raspy when it was hot. Well if it works I know for later!
Ive got both standard cat and decat but standard is on atm (just been for mot ha ha). It's a lot quieter without the decat but is it that much quieter to get it under 88!?
Cheers for the reply though! At least I have an insight!
Just wondering the above?! I've tried to search and not come up with anything? Want to do a track day and the limit is 88db so pointless me oaying for it to be denied on the day!!
Trouble is sometimes even "specialists" get it wrong though. Took mine to one (as I didn't have time to do it myself due to work), 500 miles later it spat a valve. Ive now rebuilt the engine and done it myself! Moral of the story, if you can do it yourself, do it! You're always going to treat...
The first time it turned out I'd pushed it all the way in so that's what caused that but I'd already bought the new seals so decided to fit them. When I took it apart today it had chewed the inner part of the seal on the dephaser and that was leaking lol. So I've fitted the original seal (only...
I've followed that pdf manual all the way. Is there something I'm missing when installing the seals? Should I put the dephaser seal in first or should I put it on the dephaser then put it on?
Hi, right my engine spat a valve so I have rebuilt it. It'd only had the belts and dephaser changed 500 miles before it broke so I figured I could use the same cam seals, how I was wrong as that resulted in oil pissing out everywhere! So I took it all apart again, got some new cam seals and...
Was just looking for info if I get new standard bolts. Whats the cheapest can get arp bolts for? So far I've found them on engine dynamics @ £83 delivered? !
Ha ha I wish. At the moment my main priority it to get it on the road. One day I might build a forced induction or high comp engine!
Also on the back of this, when re fitting the dephaser is there a particular way it needs to go on just I cant find anything about it in any of the mechanics...
Because that's the reason the valve snapped, 4/8 of the inlet valves had been hitting the cylinders, and the amount of metal actually removed is negligible tbh.
Re the springs, OE springs from Renault are more expensive than the catcams ones so thought it would do no harm getting them.
I agree...
