Going back to your post of April 2019 - What do you think of your PS-09 lithium battery now that you've had it for a while? Has it always started the car well? Does it hold charge for a long time when the car is stored? Any issues with it - or does it get your full recommendation?
Thanks!
I'm resurrecting a very old thread here - I'll be doing a track day in November. I want to fill up with a PAS fluid which has ideally got great heat resistance.
Any recommendations, or are the above considered best for the job?
Hi everyone,
When I replaced the gearbox of my 182 about a year ago, I was left with this plastic shield and I couldn’t figure out where it was fitted.
Can anyone tell me what it is and where it fits please?
Thank you,
Ed
Hi Everyone,
I bought an alternator for my 182 from someone here on the forum about 18 months ago, took the car to my local garage (Wests Exning) for them to fit it as I was busy at the time, but they called me to say that they were unsure about fitting it as in their opinion, it was two...
If your car is good mechanically, I’d keep it and as others have said, consider getting some bodywork done when funds allow.
Mine is mechanically great, but the bonnet and front bumper let it down (rest of the bodywork is generally brilliant). I’d really like to get the bonnet and bumper...
Your story resonates with me too.
I wanted a Clio Sport so badly when I was younger, but as you mentioned, the insurance costs were just way too high, so at 18, I got myself a brand new 1.2 (which I still have now - brilliant car!).
I’m now 33. I bought my 182 3 years ago. I have it on the...
From your description, I think my 182 has exactly the same problem. I’ve replaced just about anything that could have been causing the problem, but it’s still there.
After taking the car to my local ex Renault garage, they’re pretty confident that it’s the rack itself that needs replacing. I’ve...
Trodo still seem to be the cheapest that I can find @ 29.60 per injector, plus £8.69 postage.

Does anyone know of anywhere cheaper right now? I need one injector. The price at Euro Car Parts is £70.99 (without the current 35%...
I’m looking to replace the steering rack in my FF 182.
I want to make sure that it’s a quality replacement, whilst also keeping the cost reasonable.
I’ve seen these on eBay: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/262879008248
Any thoughts, or any better alternatives?
Thank you,
Ed
Also, each time you reset your mpg, it will clear its history. The mpg figure displayed is an average. Therefore, you have to do a good few miles after the reset before you’ll get an mpg figure that means something.
I would normally get about 38 mpg from my 1.2 Clio when I was using it to go to work. The journey was typically about 45min with a mix of country roads and town driving.
I don’t use the car much these days and so the type of journeys it does do are short trips to the supermarket etc. Town...
I have the same problem. Took it to my local Renault garage and they’ve diagnosed the problem as within the rack itself.
I’ve replaced everything else on the front and and so i’m pretty convinced they’re right.
Sorry to hear that your box has given up mate!
I had to replace mine on my 182 a couple of months ago. I wouldn’t say that it was an easy job, but working on it bit, by bit, spread out over a few days, I got there in the end.
I had planned lowering the passenger side of the subframe, but when...
Complete new driveshafts from J&R are so cheap, that I think it makes more sense to replace the whole shaft rather than mess about with replacing your boot.
I’ve heard that these cats don’t last very long - as in they’ll only get you through an MOT for perhaps about 2 years.
Does anyone know if this is true?
I'm working on removing my gearbox right now. I'm following this guide https://www.cliosport.net/threads/172-182-gearbox-change-clutch.258911/ and I'm wondering if it's really necessary to remove the exhaust and manifold?
Also, when it comes to the steering rack. Am I going to get away with...
I'll be removing the gearbox from my Clio 182 in a few weeks. To do so, I've read that it's best to lower the subframe by a few inches, replacing the bolts with threaded rod.
Can anyone tell me what size threaded rod I need please?
Thank you,
Ed
I’ve got a 1.2 16v. A few years ago, a garage replaces a driveshaft for me and replaced the gearbox oil. Since then, it become not so easy to get into first gear in cold weather. The warmer the weather, or the warmer the gearbox oil, the less of a problem it becomes.
I’m suspecting that if I...
Thanks for your replies everyone. Yes, I got home fine. I decided to leave the track day early and drive the car home gently.
@bloke - I'm sure you're right about it being a collapsed bearing. All gears are working, but there's very definite continuous transmission noise which I didn't have...
