Hi Zach, I’m in Newmarket, Suffolk. I’m hoping to see my dad’s neighbor, who was a mechanic for +40 years to get his opinion on the outer CV joint before I decide what to do.

This is the response from K-Tec: I have a neighbour that was a mechanic for 40+ years. I'll take the shaft to him to get his opinion on whether or not he'd be happy to fit a shaft with an outer CV feeling as rough as this one.

For me, the biggest problem is the movement in the outer joint. There's significant resistance and when it does move, the movement feels particularly rough. Just like a shaft where the boot split and someone has been driving around for a while with it like that - grease gone with dirt and grit...

Thanks. Couldn’t pull mine off. I ended up using the press to press it out. Cleaned up the bracket nicely and it’s slipped on over the new bearing with a few very light taps of a small hammer. Thanks for your reply.
