The cars have been around for a while, theres been a fair bit of research into what works and what doesnt, there is a good selection of well regarded people who offer their services, yet people still think tuning cars is as MaxPower used to describe it back in the 90's!!! I deliberately havent...
Is it just me, or are Mk 2 rear wings especially susceptible to dents, usually in car parks?? I think mines got about 5! Can these generally be pulled out, or is it a bodyshop respray job to sort them?
From what ive seen/ assume about welding and filling, youd want to weld a plate in, grind the welds flat, then put a really thin skim of filler over that to finish it off. I had a Mk2 fiesta whos front wing top above the headlight was almost entirely filler. It cracked, so I bodge taped it in...
Aye, id be looking to be able to do functional, decent welds, rather than anything fancy.... Ive been spannering for years on some pretty decent stuff, but its one of those things that has never been required in my job so I haven't learned it! Good skill to have IMO. This being one case!!
It stays lit. It went off for a a bit during the first drive after putting the cat back in, but came back on after. Car seems to be lacking a bit of go aswell..
OZ Ultraleggeras would look pretty smart in 16's, with a bit of lowering.. IMO. Depends what look your going for, OEM+, 'stanced' I park up for pictures, or track ****.....
Each to their own I suppose. My folks always named their cars, so I did with mine (apart from a focus that was just a stop gap) and my sister does too!! The names got to have a link to the car though. a 1.2 fiesta couldnt be called speedy!!
Mk2 Fiesta- Desmond, because no matter how hard you put your foot down, it would accelerate at its own pace, as if it was a jamacian barber, chilling out... (anyone remember the tv show??)
Mk1 1.2 clio, Dave, because everyones got a mate called dave...
Mk2ph1 1.6Rsi clio, Big dave, after its...
What sizes do the SL's come in? Ive never seen any in the flesh, but (IMO) they look like they'd suit a dimma'd 309 or 205, or a T16 or something of that ilk....
Is the reason the 197 inlet wont fit not something to do with the breathers?? IMO, if you can weld well enough and have a spare lying around, why not..... Nowt to lose!
