i had the same problem on mine ended up brakeing my off the roof had 2 get 1 from the scrappy.

mine broke off and was loose on the c.v joint gave an interinten fault. also done 3 otheres that have come into work with the same problem.

as chris say remove all the part in the red then remove the icv top left plug in the pic form the air box held with 2 small torqes head screws. aloso a breatherpipe that needs to be conected into ur induction pipe or small filter needs tobe fitted. im useing the k&n induction kit...

you wll find it hard to get just rear lowering springs best of wil a set of 4.

get a set of new lowering springs and 2hours labour max for fitting. changed mine at work in less than an hour

broken spring. if you have the recite and was less tan 12 months ago id try to get them changed under warentee. most come with a 12month gareentee. the bit thats crushed will be the rubber seat that will be fine with the new spring is fitted.

no head lamp washers are not part of the test so if they are fitted and dont work then it will still pass.

ive moted a 182 fitted with a decat and it passed the emission.

i had a front 17'' tyre blow out at 120mph in my astra lucky it was a low profile so gave bad sreering wheel shake. tyre makers recomend that a tyre shouldnt be used after its 8 years old check the date stamp on your tyres.

take it to track and road or northamtion motorsport they will map it by the hour should only take 3hours or so depending how far its out.

take it to kwik fit there doing oil changes for 30 pounds and use mobil one oil.

when running ur avos did you have the courner weights setup and full geomertry check. run avos on my old mk3 astra and track nova avos on vauxs are verygood compeared to others.
