Option 2 all day long for me, but I would be exploring other options for possible cars as well as the ones you have mentioned, theres a lot out there for that money.
I've just paid £40 for a decent pair of custom adjustable exhaust mounts (made by a member on here). The only decent ones on the market at the minute are £40 each.
So my RS192 broke.
So I got a custom system built with 3.5" slash cut tips, its nice and quiet when driving conservatively and sounds good at full chat - I'm very happy with it. :)
That is correct yes. I suspected you hadn't done that, but if you have I am not sure how this isn't working out for you. Are you bolting it up by using the correct hole?
My 182 came from Peterborough (not far from me at all), but I wish I had of looked further afield and found a better example, it would have been worth it and would have probably worked out cheaper in the long run.
He's properly blagged you by the sounds of it. I hope for your sake he is a half decent person and you get your money back though, although going by what he has already done this seems unlikely.
I would personally start by going back to the guy you bought it from, although it was a private sale if he is a sound guy he might just give you your money back.
In the end I took one backbox off and left one on. It looks stupid and is still really loud but nevermind, it's a short journey to work and I hoping the new one turns up asap!
It's pretty loud at the moment with the huge hole in it. I'm just worried it will come off while I'm driving and hit someones car haha. I just can't wait to get the new system on and it sound normal again.
Quick question:
My rear backboxes on the RS192 are hanging so low that they are nearly touching the floor. Fixing them is not an option as one of the backboxes has a huge hole in it where the hanger attaches to it. I have bought a new system which has not yet turned up but will be fitted next...
There are a few things I wish that I had researched more about before I bought mine a couple years ago, but the main thing is this:
Check the service history and make sure the belts and dephaser have been done fairly recently and if not, make sure you take this into account - it's an expensive...
