Does it really suprises you that you well being told total horse crap. You were in a Renault garage.
That one of the most ignorant things i heard them say. Who was this?? The service manager??
I got my 172 from a car supermarket because i was quoted 4 months delivery by Renault.
Rang Autolink, and a car appeared on my drive 2days later. Easy.
I agree that Magnex are nice. But can you deal with their tail pipes??? They are far too large for a clio. Plus your not going to see any real power gains from them.
After saying that I have not idea what to suggest. K-tec with the smallest tailpipe they do.
Dunno, looked at mine, and now the engine doesn;t move. The exhaust sure as hell doesnt!!
I know what you mean though that rear exhaust mount is PANTS!!
Well there might be a supersprint avaliable from me.
Currently my engine is on the floor of renault basingstoke with the mechanics scratching their balls.
:o
Well, the bloke who looked at it said that probably more than just that mount would need replacing. They are going 2 take the engine out to check for other damage before they order the parts.
All this on a 7 month old car that mainly does motorway driving. Pah.
No, Sorry im not talking about normal driving and bit. Its after 5mins of 100mph b, roads my brakes just die and over heat. Perfectly acceptable i suppose, but it would be nice for them to work a little longer.
I think you should get the new ones. The standard 172 breaks are shocking.
I have a 1.0 Yaris that has more stopping power than my 172. (ok granted im going at half the speed)
My 172 died on Friday, and i am now driving a lovly Yaris 1.0.
I have noticed for a few months now loud clunking under acceleration. This has been getting progressivly worse, so i have visited renault on many occations to get it looked at. However lots of other things have been wrong with the...
I was just 20 when i got mine.
Watch the b******s though. Im driving a Yaris 1.0l at the moment due to my engine mount breaking off, as its a little hard to drive a car with the engine at a 20degree angle:o
So what sort of MPG are you getting???
Im, getting 40MPG out of a 172 (in the week) and thats fully de-catted. And i do not drive slow. ( ask dannyboy)
Yeah obviously faulty to anyone else, but clearly not to a renault "ahem" techy.
Ive booked mine in and told them to give me a courtesy car and keep my car till they fix it. Now working on the theory that it took them over 1 month to replace a leaking master brake cylinder i could be driving...
So is it the wrong front wishbones that is causing the banging noise??
They cant seriously put a loud banging down to "its supposed to do that mate" can they???
And before anybody starts, we are not talking about the suspension mount thing.
This is hardcore, nasty, breaking/grinding/vibrating/clanking coming from the engine bay on acceleration. (mine only used to do it on full throttle but now does it all the time)
