Yeah definately check the brake fluid.
Had it on my old 306, Thought it was the handbrake light lite up when driving (so ignored it LOL) shortly became appartent that it had a split brake pipe and pissed out all the brake fluid, and promply lost all braking!!!

Agreed would be a great deal. I think I may even buy one if they come up for sale at this price. Depends on the demand and how many they will make though. But as you can get at a new 197 for 13K and a R27 for 14K can see 12K being plausible with time.
Yeah I think lots of car enthusiasts (including myself) do over estimate the value of their cars and think or hope their car isn't subject to normal depreciation e.g. 3 yrs 36,000 average loss 60% of value!
Hmm oh well. When I opened my policy with them they said the only mods they wouldn't cover are rollcages. But anything else is fine?!

I had a similar noise and thought it was the bearing, but turned out to be the caliper slider had stuck, causing the brakes to bind when they got hot. Maybe worth a look?
