To be honest I got them for a good price so couldn't say no. I was looking at the Cobra Suzuka but not sure I wanted to pay £1200 for a set of seats which will hardly be used.
Hopefully Fred can get the car complete this week so I can sort the wheels, brakes and tyres out.
I have some nearly new OEM discs and used EBC Redstuff pads you can have for a (drink) to see you out the winter.
Reason I suggest that is I'm not sure you should compromise on brakes. Brembo HC and DS2500 seem to be the going package for the Clio. At a guess around £200 from G 172.
Had a nice little parcel from TNT today.
15" OZ F1 wheels which I've been searching for a while, these will be getting powder coated over the Xmas period along with fitting other items I'm stock piling.
Similar to the M3, performance friction pads or similar would get the best out the S brembo calipers. Apart from that there a pretty solid all round car.
Like I say, I do apologise how my comment come across.
Clutch are pretty much a weak spot on them, other than that long as it's been looked after it should offer much less hassle free motoring.
I've owned both the 2.5 and the S and the S is a much improved car. A good pad compound also let's...
Exactly my point, other than you sugar coated it...
Joking aside, sorry if my post comes across as rude or offended the Op but maybe a little research would be ideal for future reference. There is a dedicated UK forum in which I found a very good specialist for the boxster as porsche dealership...
Of course, but in my opinion the M3 is the better car. Had 2 Boxsters and 1 M3 so to an outside person all you've done is 'wasted' time and money on the FRS. Maybe my first post come across wrong in which I apologise but owning said cars I do believe you would have been better simply fixing the...
I agree...
However I never bought a clio for the refinement , speed or comfort. It was bought for one reason and that was to be 'the track' / play project. Hence why it's with BTM more than it's with me. It'll be used 3-6 times a year if that.
Now on the other hand before I bought the previous...
Nope...
Saying that the OP seemed to have a few problems with the M3.
Looks to to me he has too much money and not enough logic, not meaning that too harshly but problems with the M3, problems with the FRS. Month down the line this will be sold for a MG the way things are going.
M3 > Boxster.
I guess it's debatable, I've used cheaper coilovers and for the money there OK however after 8-12 months they tend to be ready for the skip ( my experience ). Only because the car feels 'stiff' doesn't mean you'll decrease your lap times from a good OEM set up.
If that's all you can afford by...
Awful advise...
Tyres / Brakes / Suspension ideally needs to be the best you can afford for any type of fast road / track driving.
KW / H&R / Bilstein I'd tend to suggest to people, under £1000 and would be ideal for fast road / performance driving. If your budget is only £500 I'd suggest...
Garrett cores tend to be the best regardless of price.
I highly doubt you'd notice any difference between a £50 and £500 core for the engine you have.
Bare in mind if you go too big you may increase turbo lag...
Most large Italian companies are struggling at the moment. Wouldn't surprise me in the next 2 years you see a completely new strategy from Brembo. There place in Italy is HUGE!
100% computer skill 0% real world experience.
40/60 split will not give you under steer... Ask a grown up you know who may own a IX HKS and tell me that understeers...
I'm not getting into a debate as it seems you have 0 real world knowledge!
A controlled drift IS speed vs angle regardless...
1) Its angle vs speed.
2) From memory the E9 IX has 40/60 split with a clever torque control.
3) Yes you're nearly right but an open diff isn't essential. Again this is dependant on what 4/AWD system.
Edit: You can have 1200bhp if you have 0 talent you're simply not going to be able to have a...
The later Audi AWD is arguably the worst system ever...
That added with your lazy 8 cylinder is probably a disaster for a 'drift' in your local halfords carpark.
Joking aside this is why the I love the Evo so much, AYC = Keep your bottle and foot down and just hold on.
The X-Games I watched he got his ass handed to him by Tanner Frost and Loeb. Saying that drivers don't get much better than Loeb.
I don't mind his videos though, always liked his cars too!
