May go and view this ( Clio 200 'Cup').
Anyone know anything about it? Previous owner etc?
What should I be looking out for on the 200, it is just a case of making sure there are no silly noises from the steering/gearbox area?
Any help would be great.
Been a little house bound this weekend, so thought it would be ideal to sort a few little things out.
Firstly fit new OEM spark plugs kindly supplied by G 172 (Great service). Upon refitting the inlet I managed to over tighten one of the bolts and snapped it. Still air tight but i'll get this...
Yes, because I went with silver it takes a little longer. Should be around mid April for mine.
Seeing yours it has put doubts in my mind as I was going to go with the black cage.
Well the tax disc arrived today so least the car is now road worthy again.
While it was sitting in the garage I thought I'd paint the inlet manifold. (Note, I really do need to give the engine bay a good clean)
Fuel rail guard will be next.
Also thought I'd check the new mounts were all...
When I had the cambelt done, I had the rocker cover checked and sealed (Around 800miles ago).
This is the spark plug nearest the passenger side:
Edit: Picture doesn't look too bad?!?!?
Right guys,
I'm swapping the spark plugs this week and have found there to be oil all around the spark plug thread, doesn't seem to be at the tip only around the thread.
Is this normal?
Sorry if its a totally silly question just not sure I've seen a spark plug with this much oil around the...
Don't be silly, I wouldn't pull up outside a restaurant in a clio, joking aside yes I think I'm going to bin the entire stereo set up. I think i'll let my mate keep well away from the electrics with the last incident.
I was under the impression earphones were illegal to have while driving?
However its been that long from when I passed I have no idea.
This would certainly be the best weight saving option that's for sure.
Yes, maybe an oil temp/pressure gauge would look pretty nice too.
Maybe I can look into a MOCAL oil filter set up and have a gauge mounted to monitor the situation?
Food for thought, thanks.
Not really into the whole sub thing, I did the whole 150dB thing many moons ago
This is my initial thought.
Not overly keen on adding any weight at all, the whole idea is to make the car as light as possible over the next year.
Yes, I know what you mean, do I just blank where the single...
Maybe an odd question.
At the moment the car is still drove to and from the track however we are transforming the car into a 'track only' car in the future.
Currently the car hasn't got any rear or front door speakers, ONLY the dash tweeters.
Is this all that you guys have and simply put...
I do miss the 'evo-buzz'...
Some silly replies on this thread, I'm guessing some down to bitterness.
I've owned a fair few of the evo range and not once did I think, wow this car is seriously heavy, granted the newer VIII+ feel a little less agile than the earlier cars (out the box) but very...
No pictures as it is awaiting it's new tax disc.
However after researching the forum over the weekend it turns out the car has actually had a RS tuner and new map, I'm guessing the previous previous owner then sold the RS tuner one.
This now explains why the R/R printout was higher than OEM...
Carbotech Europe.
I think they were around £230 and I had to send them some originals so they could use the backing plate.
( I had some spare OEM ones lying about ).
I'm on XP8's now.
Was looking into the XP10's but was advised I'd struggle to keep the heat in them for optimum performance.
XP8's do squeal when used on the road, but soon as there is some heat in them they are fantastic. I'm not at Oulton for a few months else you could have tried them for...
Carbotech XP8 pads. Not cheap and not available as an off the shelf part so around 5-6 working days to be made.
They were great on a ~500bhp Evo, as you can imagine they are amazing on a Clio, warmer and more abuse they get the better they perform. Just ask any of the Evo lads they ARE the pads...
Managed to finally do it, what a cow if a job.
Firstly I dropped the OEM bolts, then when putting it back together dropped the new bolts.
Had to take the actual bracket off that the mount fixes too which took another 30 minutes.
Due to dropping the bolts it took over 2 hours, however the OEM...
I was pleasantly surprised myself, was expecting 165-170bhp...
Right, weather was ok this morning so I went ahead and did the gearbox mount, I noticed on the rolling road yesterday even with the engine mount there was still movement in the entire unit.
What a nightmare, everything was going...
Right ok, please bare with me.
I have searched but seems to be conflicting information.
Is it the same as the actual engine mount?
Obviously remove battery, jack under the gearbox.
Undo bolt/s and refit?
Do I need to do anything to the dogbone mount or can the upper gearbox mount be...
Nice car, however I would have thought that the Viper will be restricting power.
RCM do a nice 'large' cone type which has great reviews and many higher power cars run them.
Looks good!
God I do miss my V7 now and then!
