Cheers guys. Just bought a 350D body only off the bay. Will give it a whirl with the lens I have but failing that will buy a proper digital lens. Seems to be a cheap way to do it since the body was only £138. Will be a good intorduction to DSLR.

I have searched but with confusing answers. Will it fit? It's a 28-105mm non USM. Can I just buy a digital body? Will the autofocus still work? So confusing but trying to get on board with the digital thing, I hear it's the future!

I'm pretty sure its a burning smell, a bit like when you switch on a home radiator/heater after it being off a while and the dust burns. Will have another whif later though. I have heard about the AC 'bombs' on here so might give it a go, will do no harm. All good fun.

I had it on for months then at the weekend switched it off for a while, (windows down and system up). Switched it back on and ...smell....

What is it? Is it like a normal clutch? If it was going wrong would it fill my cabin with a burning smell when I switch on the AC? Cos I have thatz.

Have read on here about alternators on their way out giving off an acrid burning smell, have a sniff of that.
