My New Brand New Mk3 Clio

haha, after reading this whole thread, that was the only comment i picked up on too. Pics of you and the car are needed to see exactly what you mean about the space in the back. As i've found being 6'2" in the back of the mk2 clio is a bit of a struggle.

This is a Fast 172 Cup?? hee hee

Maybe she has been confused, and is talking in KPH not MPH, lol. How can anyone get something so wrong. I bet she has been told that by a dealer or something. Either that or she had a 6 year old counting for her.

    Muck shots...

I thought it was a black car to start with!! Thats dirty! Love the bonnet though.

Ooooh shiney! My 1st Pics of the CUP

yeah when i can afford to, i'll lower it. I dont know if i will go the coilover route though, as although they look good, i dont see the point in spending that much money on something i'm not going to use to its full potential. I'f i tracked the car every weekend or something, then yeah...

Ooooh shiney! My 1st Pics of the CUP

PMSL I've used it a couple of times now, when just doing a quick job, and i cant say i've had to many problems with it. It does tend to heat up a bit compared to the sonus pads, so thus dry the polish on a little bit. But thats not a major issue, as i say, i only use it normally when im...

Ooooh shiney! My 1st Pics of the CUP

It didnt come out to bad considering i didnt have all the right stuff for my PC. Got to the yard where my dad works, to use the shed, got all my stuff out the boot, and realised i didnt have the backing plate or two of the foam pads for the PC, so had to make do with just one Pad which came with...

Ooooh shiney! My 1st Pics of the CUP

yeah, i have one thats been painted black too, but its all chipped, so i need to spray one of them either way, and thought i'd go for red for now.

    Induction Kit Videos

I would do one of my BMC CDA, but i hardly think it would be worth it, as you cant really hear it over the magnex tbh.

Ooooh shiney! My 1st Pics of the CUP

Spraying the air feed is on my to do list. Its going to be done in blue. Im also going to be looking for heat resistant paint in blue, to spray the plenum (i cant be arsed to polish it). Im then going to get my bros father in law to take it to work (he owns his own precision engineering...

    Trophy in Norwich

I saw a trophy just before xmas, but havent seen one since. I see lots of 182's though. there was one parked at the end of my road for a few days.

    Nearly Lost £8000

Who cares what the noise it, the car sounds like a heap, so leave it alone. You'd be better off getting one cheaper from a member here, and spending the spare cash you have left on some english lessons.

    Bought a Trophy !!!!

tell her its a future investment, as it will hold its value much better than the cup. tell her its a nicer colour and has comfy seats for her.

    Which one???

It depends how you will drive it. I know most on here, drive their sports hard. But personally i went for the CUP. My mate has a FF, and it just doesnt feel as sporty as the CUP. Its a bit softer ride, and to me doesnt give as much feed back from the road as the CUP does. Its really down to if...

How much to fit new kit?

Does that price include shocks as well or something? As that seems expensive if it doesnt. For the -40mm apex springs when i had my 03 reg 1.2 clio cost £80, then i fitted them myself.

    Torque steering problem!

I think you will just have to live with it tbh. The sport range will always torque steer under hard acceleration. I dont think there is much you will be able to do to sort it. The only option is, is not to accelerate so hard, but we all know thats not happenning. Personally, i love fighting...

    viper or k&n

Personally, i dont think it would make a huge amount of difference to warrant spending that much money on one. The sound will get quieter too as it is enclosed. As i said, the performance of the viper over the k&n will be minimal, and i doubt you will notice much difference, if any at all.

    172 mk2 induction kit...

if not the viper then the BMC CDA is very good. i've just fitted one to my cup with a cold air feed from the lower grill, and the acceleration is much smoother, and seems to be slighty quicker. i have put on a magnex system at the same time though.

    Torque steering problem!

What tyres do you have on the car as well, that could be an issue.
  20. D

    Sliding

You need to pull the handbrake first, then turn. Its much easier that way, as the back wheels lock up much easier going straight than they do when going sideways. Once they have locked, you turn and the back end should follow it round nicely. Its much easier to control too, as it doesnt...

Anyone run their car with no exhaust?!

LOL im currently driving around with the same problem. once you hit 5k rpm, it sounds ace, but it does drone a bit lower down. i swear its getting louder too. magnex is getting fitted saturday though :D even though i have to drive 100miles or so to pick it up,lol

    FAO Mike@rentech

thanks mike. is it possible to paint it while its on the car still then?
  23. D

    Esp??

I must have a nack at braking then, as i have given the brakes on the cup some seriously hard braking, from about 60 to 5mph, so i could turn a corner. I could tell the brakes were on the verge of locking up, and just as they were about to start skidding i came off, and back on again. I really...

Cool, my dad should be able to help me out with the polishing side of things, as he once polished his old Yamaha Ex-Up frame.
  25. D

    FAO Mike@rentech

Ok, coolio, i know which bit you mean now. And would that be able to be polished up, or is it best to paint it?
  26. D

    FAO Mike@rentech

which bit is that? sorry im a bit of a dumb arse when it comes to what the bits are on the engine, lol.
  27. D

    Esp??

Yeah i suppose there is. I tend not to drive my car like a loon unless im not around other cars anyway, so hopefully i'll never have to find out if ABS would have saved my arse or not, lol
  28. D

    FAO Mike@rentech

Thanks for the info cupcake. I may give this a go at the weekend, then make a start on polishing the plenum.

    Which is better exhaust?

I was asking mainly as i was going to be buying a brand new one. But decided to go for this instead. It is cat back, but i could have the de-cat to go with it for an extra £100. So that would be a full system for £180. Which is bloody cheap. I just dont have the money for the de-cat at the...

how many bolts to get it off? Is there anything else i'd need to worry about when removing/refitting? Also do the bolts have torque settings? As i'd not want to overtighten, or undertighten the bolts. Cheers
