JD I thought you were going on about the paste wax when you were suggesting N016 lol! I'm sure that'd work a treat on the interior etc :p
I find last touch is great as a drying aid and clay lube, however I've not been overly impressed with it as a qd lately. Just doesn't seem to give...
Si, just get a QD (red mist if you want) and some bilt hamber clay which doesn't need lube :)
There's always megs last touch. It's good as a clay lube, ok as a quick detailer but I think there's better out there.
Cheers. Just as an updated, I've worked and lubed both pistons. O/S does seem to be a little more free than the N/S, but both move nicely.
Will put it all back together when it stops raining and see what happens..
Thanks for the help so far guys!
Just sprayed them with a bit of wd40 to see if it helps. Da its the passenger side which seems to be the issue although the drivers side isn't great either! I'll leave it till I know for definate what the issue is, but thanks for the offer anyway :)
Do the brakes work with 'pressure' i.e...
Nope won't do anything. Pushed against it with my finger when the brakes were applied so there was definately no movement.
The side that seems to work does brake a little when the handbrake is applied, the ns cable does seem slacker than the os though.
Winded it in and out last week for the...
My handbrake has been progressively getting worse and I knew the pads were low so changed them and it's still no better. I took it down to a garage I know as I thought it could be the cable but they said that was fine. When the rear pads were fitted they reckon the piston must have been turned...
You still got the rear adjusters in? Wasn't happy with how mine sat with them in so took them out and it sits perfectly now. Hasn't changed anything handling wise and the springs don't fall out when the car is jacked up either.
For those who've applied wheel sealent and are using bilberry, I'd avise diluting it to at least 10:1 as any less it seems to remove some of the protection...
Does a good job of removing polish yeh! You can get away with dressing plastic with it, however if it rains it runs quite easily.
Coming from a previous 901 user too, must be good! :p
Groundnut oil is just as good and less messy ;)
I wouldn't bother with the megs stuff, thats part of the 3 stage thing isn't it? The cleaner stuff (stage 1) is ok but you're better with something else for the other stages.
Can't argue with what the other guys have recommended product wise tbh!
Just remember to try the CD scratch test with these cheap microfibres before using them on your car :)
i.e. grab a blank cd, rub the microfibre on it, if there's no scratches, jobs a goodun ;)
Washing at 90deg apparently helps the fibres in the cloths.
Personally I find the eurow cloths at 10 for £20 a good enough deal. As for bargains....
:p
You tried bilt hamber mate? Would never buy anything else now. The amount of extra crap it pulled off over other (well established clays) was unbelieveable.
Depends on what settings you go for, it's not just a case of fitting the camber bolts and away you go.
-1.5 seems to be about right for a good setup, or maybe -2 if you want a little more turn in however the car may tramline and you may see a little increased wear on the inside of tyre.
On a...
I was on about the citrus wash n gloss lol, never used the degreaser although it's supposed to be good.
Any of the CG fanboys know why bare bones seems to be sold out everywhere :S (not the fact that it's a good product lol)
I'm using shampoo plus atm and it's alrite, may try 901 next though. Used BTBM and CG Citrus and liked those too :)
That brush looks decent, not bad value either if it lasts!
Was gunna say! Every time I've used it the paints ended up looking worse!
Car looks really nice mate, great finish (mondial is the best colour too ;))
Maybe when you've got a bit more conifidence with the machine you could try some polishes designed for machine use? Would help to remove...
