Keith, changed the fluid about a year ago, not really done any track time since then. The bite point got lower and lower over about 2 laps and I was having to really stamp on them to get any sort of braking power.
The CL's have been immense for 'spirited' driving which was why I was a bit...
Was on track yesterday and after about 10 minutes it felt like the brakes were dead! Didn't inspire confidence at all! Current setup is:
Carbon Lorraine RC5
Brembo HC
Braided lines
Castrol superdot 4 response
Thinking I may have boiled the fluid as I let the brakes cool inbetween...
Try Adrian flux or brentacre for insurance, it won't be cheap unless it's modded so
tell em it's got an induction kit and exhaust or something and see what the price is like.
I went through a phase of wanting a comfier car a while back (my Clio is stripped with buckets and the like). While the...
I'm not sure to be honest! You'd hope MOT testers read these testing tips things but blatently they don't! Half of it is probably down to lack of knowledge on the tester's behalf.
I think in the end my rear brakes would only do 30kg, and that was with all brand new pads etc! Handbrake was...
Got some pics but left the bloody cable at home so I can't upload em yet
I've done a quick diagram for you for how to connect it up, you could stick a fuse in there if you wanted but I didn't bother:
Feed from the horn to one side of a switch (ran the horn feed through the grommet in the passenger footwell), other side of the switch goes to the battery. I've still got the standard horn, but I removed one of them. I made a bracket out of some 1mm aluminium to mount the new horn and used the...
Looking good!
I had the same problem with my horn, just wired in a new button in the end!
Also if you need to fit the cat back in for the mot, it will fit onto the omp mid section and backbox, altho it barely sits in the mounts! Sounds proper lame with the cat in too lol (just had to do...
Seems strange that the cable has snapped, I'd check the position of the arm on the caliper compared to the side that works as the caliper could have seized (I've had 3 new rear calipers due to this in the last 10 months!!)
Mine broke too, they replaced it no questions asked! Top service!
If it's one of the early models you've got there was a common fault with the switches.
Engine management light (due to no 2nd lambda) isn't a fail, but if the 2nd lambda itself reads nothing, I still think that could be a fail?
Even if I plug the second lambda in and cable tie it somewhere, it would still read outside the specified limits and therefore fail i think..
I may have...
As above, I've had to swap my exhaust due to emissions but I've only been able to get hold of a ph1 one (twin barrel, single lambda type).
Even if it passes on emissions, would it still fail based in the fact that the 2nd lambda would appear to be reading nothing?
Cheers!
