Nice work! The cup racer door handle surrounds are 55 quid delivered for the pair from R sport. It's depressing knowing that they probably cost about 5 quid to make :( Think mine took around 3 weeks to arrive, R sport have to order them from France iirc.

To be fair you'd have to be going seriously wrong to do damage with a DA. I did before and after readings with a PTG when I did my car and the difference was about 3 microns! Even with some light wetsanding you'd probably only be removing about 10 microns.

Checked for splits in the leads? If an exposed cable touches the engine, you'll see a spark, and the engine will 'skip' like you've described.
