Spotted you parked on a road just off Chorley Old road, can't remember your forum name on here.

    R-Sport ECU

Does anyone know if R-Sport ECU's are mapable? From what I've been told the R-Sport ECU is a plug and play replacement for your standard ECU and it comes with a generic map already loaded on to the ECU. All I'm thinking is if I ever decided to mod further (cams etc) Would the R-sport ECU need...

    Koni adjustable shocks

After witnessing the handling of JB's 172 on the recent Ladybower meet, I've been looking at Koni's adjustable shocks. Been looking at prices and on larkspeed (seen here http://www.larkspeed.com/index.pl?c=KONISHOCKSRENAULT&s=category ) they're alot cheaper than k-tec's price of £500+. I take...

Parked my car along side a Trophy today at EuroCarParts in Bredbury around 2pm ish. Anyone on here?

    Jealous scummy low-life w*****s.

To say I'm pissed off is a major understatement. Went to the gym with a mate in Sale and I left my car parked outside his. When I came back I was greeted by to large key marks in the rear quarter and in the door. The one in the rear quarter is the full length of the panel and the one in the...

Possible location for engine oil leak.

Decided to take the Plenum off today and I'd noticed the head of this bolt had snapped off (see red circle in the photos below). When I felt down the back of the rocker cover I could feel wet engine oil and the mainfold had oil on it as well. I've smeared sealant around that area as a...

    New Style Renault badge

Removed the old "Clio" and "Renault Sport" badges and fitted a new style "Renault Sport" badge over the two holes left by the old "Clio" badge. I've fitted the new badge slightly different though and I'm not to sure if I'm happy with it yet, just after other people's opinions. P.S Not copied...

    Burning smell on idle

Another strange one, seems to be what my car excels at. If I leave the car to idle for roughly 5-10 mins or so, I get a burning smell, seems to be a burning oil smell which is a little dis-concerting. Doesn't do it everytime, just now and then and it isn't burning any more oil than it normally...

    Silver Cup? Urmston

About 3 days ago it was parked up literally round the corner from me, a 10 second walk from my house. Couldn't tell if it was a Cup or not because it was all Frosted over but it did have Turinis. Was going to flyer it but it'd gone when I got back home that day.

Fuse for the horn keeps blowing

As the title says, the fuse for the horn keeps blowing as soon as I press the horn. A few months ago it happened, I replaced the fuse and had no problems up until today. Any ideas what might be causing this? Cheers.

    Not happy!

Went for a drive with my mate tonight and whilst travelling back over from Cadishead to Irlam along the cadishead way I noticed a massive patch of white paint. I had no choice but to drive through it as my mate was behind me and there was other cars on the otherside of the road. Got home to...

    Intermittent wiper

Think I have a problem with the stalk, the intermittent wiper doesn't work on all the settings. It'll work on two of the fastest settings but if I have it set on the lower speed settings the wipers never come on. Everything else works on the stalk, i.e normal wiper, fast wiper, rear wiper, water...

    0w40 engine oil

I've read a few threads where people do use this grade of oil and was just wondering if there was any major draw backs to using it then maybe the engine burning it off a little quicker than the 5w40 grade. I can get it from Costco fairly cheaply, cheaper than the 5w40 grade. Also is there...

    Non-Standard map

I posted a thread a while ago asking if anyone could identify the possible map on my car and I still haven't found out. Basically it has a raised limiter of around 7800 and also the cold limiter is non-existent, so theoretically if I wanted to I could start the engine then bounce it off the...

    05 plate RB 182 Cadishead/Warrington

Traveling along the A57 I think it is through Irlam and Cadishead and I came across a RB 182. Had abit of blast with it running through in to Warrington. Didn't notice any CS stickers. Anyone on here?

    Brake squeal

Fitted a set of HC Brembo Discs and DS2500 pads a couple of months ago and to start with I was getting a squeal from the brakes, after copper slipping and removing a little of the material from the metal backing plates I managed to eliminate the squeal. Coming home from work today and...

    Starting issues AGAIN!

Put previous threads up about this and I thought I'd solved it with a new starter motor but my starting problems have come back again. Car will not start at all and needs to be bump started to get it going, when you turn the key there nothing there at all and all you get is a click from the...

    Removing front brake calipers.

My calipers need re-painted because I didn't make such a great job of it the 1st time as the paint is starting to flake off, didn't help getting covered in mole grease from a split CV boot I suppose. Anyway I was thinking just removing the caliper completely rather than painting it in-situ...

    Another DS2500 fitting question

I've searched and found various things regarding fitting but I've still failed to remove the infamous squeaking/squealing. Strangely I only seem to get the squealing/squeaking while the brakes aren't being applied. Once they've warmed up they start squealing and it's while I'm driving, once I...

    Fitting new disc and pads.

Just a couple of questions as I've attempted to fit mine today. I couldn't fit my discs because those torque screws that hold the disc to the hub have rounded off, what's the best way to remove them? drill the head? I've fitted my pads (Ferodo DS2500) but there's an issue, I took the car out...

    o2 Broadband

Anyone have any issues today with it? Mine keeps playing up, was without an internet connection for about 2 hours earlier, it's come back now but now and then I keep losing connection. Tried ringing tech support but the phones lines are busy, was on hold for 30 minutes without speaking to...

    Replacing brake discs and pads

Looking at changing the brake discs and pads soon on my Cup because the pads currently fitted to my car really can't handle enthusiastic driving, they get hot and fade and I'm left with very poor braking performance (not that I drive "enthusiastically" on a regular basis ;)). Question is, it's...

    Brake light

Last night my nearside brake light went out, I presumed it was just the bulb. After further investigation I've found it's not the bulb as it's still working, I've looked for loose wires, checked the earth and tried to clean the contacts and bulb holder, also I've checked the brake pedal sensor...

    Possibly Welsharab?

Well it wasn't so much a spot, I just heard a jet like noise and I know his car makes a similar noise lol. It was on Cadishead way on the border of Warrington and Cadishead around 13.30 today.

    Upper gearbox mount.

I've finally got round to replacing mine today, just a question though as I'm not to certain I've done the correct thing. Once the mount was in place, I pulled the engine forward as much as possible then tightened the nuts. Presume that was the correct thing to do? Also the spindle that's...

    Possible brake issue

Normal to heavy breaking at low-medium speeds there doesn't seem to be any issues, car stops well, although after prolonged braking the brakes do start to fade due to the crappy green stuff pads. The issue is braking from high speeds, I get a loud grating/scraping sound which is a little...

    Hazard light switch.

I think something has snapped inside my hazard light switch because the button won't stay in which is causing the hazard lights to stay on constantly. I've had to disconnect it behind the panel. I'm presuming I'll need a new one? if so, anyone have idea of how much I'm likely to pay for a new one?

    RR road result!

Had my car on the rollers today, I was reasonably happy with the result but the power curve wasn't smooth, just as it hit the powerband (5krpm) I got a dip in power then it came back and carried on rising. Looks like there's a dead spot there or something? I'll post up the graphs at somepoint.

    Split rubber on rear wiper!

I know I'm probably going to get "just buy a new one" after posting this but I'll ask anyway. lol M.O.T is due soon and my rear wiper blade is split on the ends, it still wipes properly and doesn't leave the rear window all smeary but would a split wiper blade cause an M.O.T failure? Edit...

Spade Connector on the Starter Motor

Where abouts is it located and which is the best way to gain access to it? I'm going to give it a clean up and see if it helps any with my sticking starter problem.
