See I didn't have any problems with my Peco Backbox on my Mk1. When I first got my car I didn't have much money, but wanted something on a tight budget and decent "noise" (if you will).
The Peco fitted fine, and the sound was deep and also popped alot (but that's ten times better now with my...
Depends in how good a condition inside and out (i.e. paintwork).
Anywhere between £800 - £1k I would say? Best bet is to have a look on AutoTrader for the price of any standard spec 1.4RT's and then go from there.
This reminded me of something that happend to, lets call him Mr X. :) Old woman parks next to him in car park and opens door and hits Mr X's wingmirror.
Mr X says "Do you realise what you've done, are you not even going to apologise". Needless to say old woman gave Mr X verbal and walked...
Wow! A lot of help, thanks! :D
Sounds like me but a few years on! The spec of the Clio is better than the VTR but its v.close to a 106GTi (according to book figures) so when I buy some mods hopefully it'll be a bit quicker again. I'm thinking the usual, exhaust, filter, manifold and...
You'll have to excuse me, I'm not down with these "new" clio models. :) Sport? Is that completely different to the 16v? What's the spec's?
Surely the insurance would be more though? Anytime you mention RSi / GTi / Sport to an insurance company you can hear them going "chu-ching!" :D
Ta!
Thanks for the replies, I was beggining to worry that no one would! :)
I had a look on autotrader (which is actually how I found out about that model) and there were a few knocking around for around the £4k mark.
@Dazz,
Thanks for all that info. That's v.helpful! The alloys were one...
Just a bit of background info. I currently drive a 1.4RT but probably sometime soon I'll be thinking of getting a new(er) car. I had a quick look on Parkers and the figures for this car seem really good...

Top Speed: 122 mph

Loppy, is this sorted now?
Just because I'm in Gateshead and I know of one or two good places that I could recommend in having a look for you. One guy where I go to get most of my work done on the Mk1 it's his own Garage and there are a few I know over in Newcastle (where my bro has had...
I used to have a K&N cone on my 1.4RT and it was rubbish, nice sound but sitting directly above the engine is just a big no no. The kits that relocate the cones are better, but in the end I've went for the ITG Panel Filter in the std. airbox and cut a new hole in the side for the extra cold air...
I think they are roughly 27 litres give or take... can't remember off the top of my head but I'm sure they defo ain't more than 30 litres. Costs me roughly £28 to fill up. :)
3yrs driving experience, 0 NCBs and they havent added the IAMs advanced driving on for me yet...

This is with Chris Knott btw. Adrian Flux were quite close too. Told my mate, who...
Custom exhaust.... the closest would be Leeds for us northern folk. About 1hr 30min drive away from Newcastle. That would be for a Longlife exhaust btw. :)
Erm other than that, there isnt too many places Im aware of that can make custom jobs.
Oh! There is a place I heard of through a...

Sorry for the bad pic, but thats the only one I have as I no longer have those alloys. The Voodoos certainly suited the car I have to say, and obv. they dont have to be gold like mine were. :)
Hope this helps a little bit.

Had this system on for a few weeks now, and also posted this on the RSC forum. Its the full mild-steel system for my 1.4 Mk1. :)
Reasons I like it.
1. V.Deep & Bubbly (the camcorder had trouble picking up the sound).
2. Pops and bangs on most gear changes (even up the box!)
3...
I have the Yokos on my Mk1 (195/45/15R) and imo they are good in the dry. Ive had no problems with grip or anything like that at all. Sound tyres.
In the wet, hmmm its harder to say, because when its wet/raining I (and most others) drive slower. I havent ragged the car yet or been in a...
