Just read through this thread, very interesting to say the least. I've noticed people say inside the fuel cap it says "98 ron". Does the Valver need this sort of petrol, or would normal supermarket stuff be fine for it... after all, it is an old car?
Also, what you've said Gordon, I never...
Wilwood do 4-pot midilite calipers, and you can get them in a kit with 300mm discs, and then Poly E pads. But, your looking at around about £500 - £600. They are for the Williams, but apparently they'll fit the Valver. Which they should, saying as they use the same brakes.
Hehe "pimp effect". I like it though. :( Oh, Gav, yeah I cleaned it before fitting it however when I re-hoovered it, it brought up some more "dirt". So it needs doing again.
Thanks guys! :D
Hey guys,
Just finished putting her all back together. Took me and my dad most of the day, but here are the pics anywho!
Basically I've removed the old black carpet and valver seats and put in a new willy carpet, mats (as seen in my previous thread) and leather seats. :)
Still needs...
I have the Ashley system on my 1.4 RT. With a silent de-cat from K-Tec, it's loud. Lol. Nice though, deep and bubbly. Pops all the time. With a cat on I think it would be more acceptable, unique sound as well. For the price you can't complain really, does what it has to. Should get a good...
I just got a local garage to fit a new "kit". But I supplied them with the updrated Piper Belt (from K-Tec). People said you don't really need it (std. valver) but imo it's better safe than sorry. lol. :D Think it came to £250 all in.
Apparetly you should also get the waterpump and aux belt...
Haha possibly, don't know. It was actually up for sale awhile ago but no one was interested so that was that. Engine is on it's way out sadly. Sounds like one of the valves is gone, not too sure. Hence why I'm trying to get a new engine in her. Otherwise I don't think she'll last much...
Thanks,
I have kept the originals incase I needed them for the MOT, but she's just had one and they passed fine. Never been stopped for them either. You still get a fair bit of light through them, just slightly duller. :)
Thanks guys,
You know what, the side reps are possibly the easiest thing to change and it's the one thing I've never done. :) I may get some clear ones one sometime. Lol.
Still has the curse of the Mk1 rust appearing here and there, it's a constant battle. Some small marks on the alloys but she still looks good for her age. :) Just need to convince my dad to put a new engine in her next. Lol.
Anyway, hope you like the pictures.
I have no experience with it, however it does look the biz and Nick knows his stuff going by everyone's comments so I doubt it'd be rubbish. :)
Is that a sealed unit? Or stainless steel cone?
I think for show, it looks good. :) A lot of effort has went into it for sure.
However, I wouldn't personally like to use it as a day to day car. It's just too "loud" for me. However, that could be also because I'm not a fan of red cars in general. Meh.
Lol I'm just thinking what I've had fixed on mine... errmmm
