Runs quieter and a tiny bit faster I'd say with loading games like Forza3, but if you have the new xbox the noise isn't an issue.

Yup 4GB is pretty useless tbh, I struggled with 20GB on the old xbox.

Thanks for the input guys, turns out the speedbump issue is a worn front shock absorber which is being replaced ASAP, as for the rear 'thud' over tiny bumps in the road I still have no idea as everything is in its place so I can only assume I need another damper? Which should be under warranty...
