Nice one, I remember that thread coming up, didn't realise it ended with a smile...
I might order some fresh oil then, the box has had a flush so maybe I should order some of the good stuff.. What's the worst that can happen..
Thanks for the help, appreciated..
Ok, I might have to try that before I start ripping it all out..
The reason I don't trust the shafts is there 1 and a half inch difference between the longest and shortest ones I was given.. It just tells me that they weren't made with the greatest care or planning..
I think I'll pop the cv...
Did I ever tell you about the time I got a turbo and when I finally looked at it a year later the rear wheel was totally smashed to pieces..
Goodtimes...
Oh, it's says 75/90 on the gripper website and that's what my box is as standard...
Wonder if it needs an additive?
It's the same as the clios box and the same diff.. Well, that's if it's a gripper diff in there..
The latter sounds possible, it's just epic bad on a left, noticeable on a right..
I'm sure when I got it the word plates was used.. I'm hoping the original owner can shed some light, it's not been an issue so only come to light on my first test drive..
As with all the problems, I'm almost...
Due to it being a standard box, and it needing a flush through from being sat so, I went with the standard oil.. I'm in the process of asking the previous owner some questions, but he hasn't been online since Wednesday..
I can turn left but not right, I'm starting to think the cut shafts are...
The problem is the passenger side runs cut and shut shafts, I've switched with a spare..
It's not a click, tap, it's a brutal banging.. I won't rule out the shafts, but I'm certain a normal box and shafts will work.. I'm basically thinking it's got to go, but I want to know why it insists on...
I have an lsd box in the car and while turning right it seems ok, when turning left however it's knocking/banging/jumping...
I picked it up about 4 years ago from someone I know, so don't expect I've been stitched up.. I'd like a solution otherwise I'll be going back to the original box which...
Start it and get a multimeter on the battery and if it's getting 14v or there abouts the alternator is fine..
Normally a car can keep running with a dead/shafted battery and a good alternator as it's connected to all the auxiliary systems.
Test first, spend second.
I've done a 15.4 at 86mph or some jazz like that in the past.
I think if I gave my current 5gtt to one of the guys who know there shizzle, they would get it in the mid 12's very easily on drag tyres.. I however haven't got the skill or know how to spend the hours, days, weeks, months test and...
You need any bends formed into the hose already, I doubt anything on the roll will do what you need with out cutting.. What you linked is vacuum hose and got for nothing but air.
Each cut = 2 extra leak points = more fail..
Don't the pinky ponkys do them? I ordered a set for my 5 that came...
Currently he has....
Should someone get caught kicking it in again, you can only give them a kicking for the current one, not the previous due to no proof...
Should he admit the first offence, he should bite the kerb.....
Yep,, parking over people's driveways, parking outside other people's houses, noisy cars, noisy kids, having a face that doesn't fit..
All reasons why you cars get done in...
It's kinda like murder, it's always something close to the victim.
Do you have a loud exhaust?
The rear quarter damage is the sort of thing people to to send a car to the scrapper, or get rid of your car from their lives..
Your car must stand out to someone for some reason, even if it's because they want it and can't have it.
It's the tyre, they're total turd, we used to sell those for mondeo fitment to other garages for £12 a unit and make a profit, as bad a camac and linglongs..
Life with it or get some tyres and don't get toyo t1r, they're turd on a Clio.. Stick with something good, Pirelli do well but I went...
Totally, that said if you or anyone else wasn't going to do it, I'd only go to one of the main guys on here..
Time being the issue, I know they'll be fast and do it right.. I really wouldn't trust a normal garage to do it in good time as getting it spot on is interesting.
If people behind the wheel get this heated over other people's driving, they're in for a very unhappy life..
Slow down, chill out and wear rose tinted glasses.. No one else on the road interests me and that guys little more than a fart in an enclosed space.. He wants to be important, but he's...
I see both options as burning money and for me it turns a good car into a cat c.. I just wouldn't buy one..
Which brings me back to my first point, it's mostly burning money.. Buy a different car.
I decided to do my own because I heard that no one on earth other than a specialist can do one... Not even renault can..
So I did one and a week later did another on a local members 182..
The secret is to get the timing spot on before you put the car back together.. If it's out and you...
