Using that, will it leave bolts exposed inisde the filter? I dont want them to be sucked into the trumpets!
or is it inevitable that bolts have to be left inside?
Yes changing the trumpets will affect performance, i am going for a stand alone ecu and it will be remapped.
It wont cost me any money to change the engine, i will do it myself, the reason for putting the engine in the mk1 is because the mk1 is a better car (imo)
The 172 is great, well kept...
The silver one was broken for parts, i didn't even have anyone look at it and it was only up for £2k and i wasnt going to give it away.
It is russ's old car.
Its not justins old car!
The silver one went scrap on monday so im down to 3 now! but i have just won a mk2 ph1 on ebay so will be 4 on again on sunday
silver ph2 172
Black ph1 172
White mk1 hybrid
Naples mk1 hybrid
One day i might put an engine in this car and leave it in there!
Any how, as a couple of people already know i recently bought this
It was bought because of this
Plans for the 172 are unclear at the moment, unfortunatly it isn't worth much without an engine, i do have a spare...
I took my engine out this morning and checked clearence for my new rad, unfortunatly its a bit to wide, now ive seen someone else cut a bit of the subrame to fit a 172 rad, bit i believe this is a tad wider than that,
What are people's opionings on cutting a section off to fit the rad?
He said he did have a problem with them sucking flat but they have since been replaced, and the brakes are fine, i will try to move the bar forward i think, and move the coil pack to the side
It currently has the brake servo running off the 'map bar' where the 4 vaccum hose's go, i surpose i could just block the map sensor end and keep the vaccum hose's and the bar and just run it like that ?
I have Russ's itb's ph1 172 running standard ecu, however im going to go stand alone onit, what shall i do about brake servo? this is what is currently tapped into the manifold, is there anyway of utilising this? or would have to take the manifold off and get something bigger tapped in?
